You have my admiration and respect. My bachelor’s is in social work, and second semester senior year I knew there was no way in hell I could make it my career. My field experiences were quite disconcerting, and once I graduated I made more money doing clerical work than anything I could find available with my BSW. The kind of jobs I was interested in required a MSW or higher, and I had hated my social welfare policy classes so much I wanted nothing to do with more coursework in the subject.
People say teachers are underpaid and underappreciated, but they are gods compared to social workers. I tip my hat to you.

It’s different in Canada too. Universities are typically schools with 4-year programs. Colleges offer one, two, or three year diploma certificate programs.
I’m a three year Electronics Engineering Technologist, and I have a hell of a time trying to choose my applicable education level on drop-down menus from U.S. form writers on job sites, etc.
