I’ve taken the tests multiple times. Usually I’m an INFP, but I’ve also gotten borderline results on the N/S traits (like 51%/49%).
I peg the introvert meter as well. Oddly, my innate preference is extrovert. As a child, and up until my early 20s, I was extremely extroverted. If there was a party or a social gathering, I was first there and last to leave. You couldn’t shut me up with a hammer. The pendulum has since swung the other way.
INFJ, and I think the description fits me pretty accurately.
ENTP, although I’m borderline on some of them.
This is pretty accurate though.
What’s really interesting to see is how I’ve drifted since like early high school when I took a test like this. I think I was close to ENTP, but I’ve become more extroverted than before, and probably gone up in the emotional categories.
ESTJ - and it’s a perfect fit.
INFP–which I say stands for “I’m Never Fully Prepared.”
I have taken it several times, and it always comes up ISTJ. I don’t place any more stock in this than I do astrology or any of those “what’s your favourite color?” quizzes, but it is a very interesting read. I’m not surprised by my consistent **ISTJ ** rating, as I haven’t changed much in the way of how I think and feel over the past several years.
ETA: And yes, it fits quite well.
I’ve done it a few times, and my results are either ENTJ or ENTP. I wouldn’t be making career hiring/firing decisions based on Myers Briggs testing, though I find interesting in a work place from the perspective of reinforcing that co-workers do, indeed, have different working styles.
And then there’s Harry Potter version of the test. Hey, who wouldn’t want to find out that they have the personality of Voldemort? No, that isn’t the result for either of mine.
ENTJ here but don’t agree with the low Thinking rating as I’m told by everyone that I over analyze everything and think it through too much.
I always want a different result, and I always get INTP. I’m bored by my own test result.
One online test said a good career for me was “assassin.” Ooh.
Who’s to say that there are only 16 personality types? Why not 24? 4? 4000?
If you like Myers-Briggs, you’ll love Enneagrams, which divide personalities into 9 types:
The Perfectionist
The Giver
The Performer
The Romantic
The Observer
The Trooper
The Epicure
The Boss
The Mediator
Or how about the “scientifically validated” Riso-Hudson "Enneagram Type Indicator?
And here’s the Keirsey Temperament Sorter, the “Number one online personality assessment.”
Are you a OFAD, OSVD or TTLM? Molly E. Holzschlag will tell you about those web design and development personality indicators, although I think Molly is a TICP (Tongue In Cheek Poster).
If all those fail, you can always fall back on the Ouija board or just some serious introspection.
The last time I took the Myers Briggs was after I was laid off and we got, as part of our severence package, time with a placement company. So there was this room with about 30 people that had taken the test. Half of them I knew as they were from my office and the other half were all laid off together from another company. We took the MB and we all scored the same. All of us, save one, were in the same quadrant.
But I knew damn well that not everybody from my office had the same personality and from meeting those others, I’m sure they didn’t either. The placement woman but great stock in the test results. For some reason, I didn’t go back.
I am an ENTJ…“The Field Marshall”.
Okay, I just took one of those online tests (from the links) and it said I was IFSP (is that right?), and described it as an artist! Well… hate to burst any bubble, but I am totally not artistic at all. What I mean is that I have pretty non-existant artistic talent. I can’t even draw a straight line -with a ruler-!
Maybe I’m not the best test taker. I rarely mark the “absolutes,” (very accurate or very inaccurate), and quite a few of my answers were right in the middle. Plus there is the possibility that I may have mis-read the question, which would skew my answer to the wrong way. laughs I just don’t like personality tests!
INFJ here, SO is an INTJ. I can’t say that I buy it entire, but there’s enough validity there to make us both go “hmmm.”
I’m INTJ too - I’ve taken it a few times, and always get the same result. I think it fits pretty well, although I do have some empathy for others’ feelings
INTP for me
All your computers are belong to us .
I used to hang out on a baseball newsgroup on usenet. I think every regular poster was either intp or intj. Geekery, thy name is int!
ENFP here, and I’ve found the descriptions very accura…Oh, look! The neighbor’s kitty is in my yard!
You have to read the descriptions that go along with the results; ‘Artist’, ‘Thinking’ and ‘Introvert’ don’t necessarily mean what they mean in regular lingo.
