What is your Myers-Briggs type?

I’ve always scored INTJ pretty consistently; just tried it again, got ISTJ (78/1/62/22). The lapse into S-dom seems related to a bout of depression I’m going through, as well as my profession (quality control), which seems to be eroding my N-ness. Sometimes my J gets P’d.

Introversion is NOT shyness. Introverts function just fine in society; it’s a matter of orientation. I’m HAPPY alone, mostly. Some extroverts get positively panicked at extended periods of isolation, just as some introverts get panicky in crowds, but both of these are abnormal.

Having taken various versions of the free test a few times over the years: Borderline I/e (borderline meaning sometimes one, sometimes the other, slightly more often I, and never more than about 10% either way), slight N, borderline F/t , and borderline J/p.

Which, if you like astrology, makes PERFECT SENSE because I am a Gemini and therefore naturally schizophrenic personality-wise.

INTP female.
Supposedly the majority of INTPs are male. For whatever reason.

INFJ, with a higher F than N, fwiw, which reminds me that I should follow my heart and get out of the IT business, and start working with people instead; I want to work with young people, be there and make a difference for troubled kids… now that I’m heading 40 and everything…

(Hm, there’s not much money in that, is there?)

They don’t necessarily mean “introvert” as a person who hates social interaction. I think I score as an “I” because I like to work on projects alone and enjoy relaxing without other people around. I don’t enjoy going to large social gatherings where I don’t know anyone and my hobbies do not involve group activities, but I like going out with friends and I definitely like to talk.

INTJ here

I’ve taken this a few times and have consistently scored about the same each time. I first got into this because I was a psychology major back in school and this type of thing has always fascinated me

INFP, although I sometimes wander into INTP territory. INFP is not as rare as the types listed in Post #32, but it’s rare enough that I feel like the odd one out during group events. However, knowing this has made me more comfortable with being myself. I’ve met other INXX types, too, so I know that I’m not the only nonconformist out there

Did you hear about the Myers-Briggs counselor who was thrown out of her own company presentation? She was giving a presentation at a small company and the owner of the company wasn’t convinced of the utility of the system. So she tried to show him how it might be useful.

She had given the little quickie test and had his scores. He had scored very high in Judgement. So she told him that he might have a tendency to make decisions before all of the information regarding a problem had been collected and analyzed. The presentation was over when she said: “You have too much J-ness and not enough P-ness.”

Apologies if I’ve told that one before. Mind like a steel sieve. (Is that an INTP trait?)

I was INFP in high school. I don’t think I’ve changed that much since then, but I haven’t taken a full test in a while.

Another INTJ here.

I (INFP) absolutely have to feel like what I am doing is making a meaningful difference for somebody or some worthy cause, or I get very quickly bored and disconnected (in my current iteration I’m a tutor, and I love it). Mindless pointless busywork is anathema to me.

Yet another INTJ checking in. Used to be an INTP, but as I’ve gotten older (and spend too much time studying engineering), I’ve progressively gotten more J. Neither P/J preference is especially strong though.

I know that EXACT feeling. It pretty much describes my life purpose.

My husband took it and is an ENTJ.

That didn’t really tell me anything I didn’t already know!

I just tried two online tests, both of them said ISTJ.

INTJ with ISTJ coming up occasionally. I knew we were all geniuses here!

ETA: By the way, my sister, who is the opposite of me in almost every way, got the exact opposite personality type—ENFP.

Also, I’m almost 100% I and about 55-60% N. I don’t remember the other percentages (I took the test a while ago). The pages for INTJ and ISTJ seem like they both describe at different times and moods.

Last time I took the test (a few years ago) I fit the INTP profile, this time around I got INTJ.

Do (some) employers require M-B tests? I can understand using it for security clearances or something, but for some cubicle McJob, I don’t see the point. I don’t think that anybody, including employers, has any right to know what M-B type I am. Yeah, I know I revealed my “type” here, but like I said before, it would be different if I took it today. I don’t ever answer that stuff completely honestly, because it’s obvious to me what they’re looking for, and I pick the “best” answer. I usually don’t have any strong feeling one way or another about the questions, anyway. I believe most of them depend upon the situation.
