What kind of dog is this? A Leonberger?

I’m not sure if this falls in general questions or cafe society.

I’m wondering what kind of dog is pictured here. A Leonberger? Is it large enough to be one? I didn’t even know Leonberger existed until tonight when trying to search for him/her.

It looks like a weird Newfoundland with a golden coat, which is pretty much what a Leonberger is. It does seem pretty small (like half the weight) compared to Newfoundland dog size, but maybe it’s a mixed with a smaller breed or the photo’s perspective.

Some random dude wrote a book about TV pets and say that the dog in the movie was a Golden St Bernard mixed with a straight St Bernard. That dog’s father was named Boomer, apparently.
