What kind of hat do you wear?

I have a large noggin, so if I wear baseball cap, it has to be fitted. Either 7 7/8 or 8.

This winter i’ve been wearing a Newsboy (sometimes called an 8 panel) hat.

I wear a wool knit hat made by Carhartt in the winter. I’ve had it for years, and apparently it’s made with a magic material because it hasn’t stretched at all, and comes down over my ears.

In the summer, I have a straw trilby. It’s a little bit hipster-looking for me, but it’s also quite utilitarian. . .covers the ears and eyes effectively, and I have a small head so large brims look stupid on me.

I was doing a wreck/deep dive for my Advanced Open Water Diver card off Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, BC. There was a group of photographers on the boat with us, and one of them had forgotten his hood. (A hood is very important in 42° water!) Someone loaned him a Carhartt tuque, and he dove with that. When he came back up, he said it did help. Someone said that Carhartt had an ad that said ‘Carhartt: As tough as the men who wear them’. I wonder if they sent in the photo?

My hat has ear flaps. I hate hats and will only wear one if I’m walking somewhere while it’s snowing.

No hats for me. They give me hat-head and though it gets cold here, I’m not outside for long enough to have to wear a hat. Although, apparently my ears lost all their blood and turned grey one time when I had to walk farther than usual. It really alarmed the co-worker I was walking with!

A cute little red toque in the winter, and that’s about it. My hair does things to hats that Cthulhu himself would be proud of.

I favor this snazzy beret.
