My wallpaper is a close-up of a butterfly that I downloaded from webshots. I usually have dog or puppy wallpaper but my current screensaver does scary things to faces. It’s the one on windows called “science”, where the image is magnified in a circular motion.
If I try to use a non windows screensaver, it locks up the 'puter.
I use the current “Hubble Deep Field” from a photo taken from http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html”]The Astronomy Picture of the Day site. Since this is a borrowed computer, I have not installed a screen saver. At home, I use SETI@home.
I am such a geek.

I’m using that same screensaver, hillbilly queen.
For the past few months my wallpaper has been a collection of scenes from Meridian. (You need to be a member to access the download section.) Before that, I had Escaflowne wallpaper, featuring Hitomi.
Wallpaper: A colleague sent me a photograph that her commercial-photographer husband made. It’s a bowl of potatoes, all with various (human) horrified expressions skillfully Photoshopped on, sitting on a counter along with a peeler, masher, mixing bowl, and recipe for “MASHED POTATOES.” Hilarious!
Wallpaper: I was SO bummed to find out that my After Dark wouldn’t work with my new Win2K install. Had to go surfing around for screensavers and found a fun one called “Alphabet Stewed” – letters in various fonts bouncing and floating across the screen. I studied type design and am now a copyeditor, so it seems appropriate.
Aargh. Make that second heading “Screensaver.”
My wallpaper is a Picture of Underdog in space and I don’t have any specific sceensaver. I just have the monitor set to go off after 20 minutes of no action.
I change my wallpaper every week or so…whenever I feel inspired. Right now, I have a pretty wallpaper from CLAMP’s Clover and some generic Windows screensaver. Earlier this week, I had Vampire Hunter D wallpaper.
Last week, I had a nice Legolas wallpaper and a Lothlorien screensaver I downloaded from the LOTR movie site. I thought it appropriate to coordinate.

My background is a kickass picture taken at one of the best raves I’ve ever been to, called Odyssey.

After 2 months of having a pic of a Stormtrooper as my wallpaper, I just switched to a pic of Dean Martin with appears to be a nasty cold sore on his lip.

Since I mainly use these two computers most of the time:
At home in my apartment
Wallpaper: I use the “Bubbles” one that comes with Windows. I’d go crazy if I had it as a tile display, though, so I just use it as a center display. Much easier on the eyes.
Screensaver: I like the “Flying Through Space” one that comes with Windows, so I use it. It just looks really, really cool to me.
At my brother’s (read: parents’) house
Wallpaper: My sister used some Photoshop program or other to superimpose her face on Nicole Kidman’s from a scene in Moulin Rouge. I gotta tell you, it’s pretty disconcerting to look at your sister’s face on the screen all the time! That’s why I always make sure to have Internet Explorer (or some other application that can be maximized) up when I’m at the computer. (I see her enough in real life that I don’t need to be staring at her face while I use the computer there!)
Screensaver: My sister somehow managed to put together a number of screen images from Moulin Rouge, and use that for a screensaver. I guess it’s better than the time she was using the Backstreet Boys’ pictures as a screensaver…
My personal computer:
Wallpaper: A screenshot of some Orisinal flowers that Gunslinger sent to me, with a sweet little message attached.
Screensaver: Opal’s “Jesus Christ on a pogo stick” screensaver.
My parent’s computer:
Wallpaper: A pair of pug dogs dressed up in ridiculous outfits (hot dog buns and “ketchup” and “mustard” squiggles down their backs.
Screensaver: Flying Windows.
I’ve got your geek right here, Trisk:
At work:
Sparc–Rinoa & Squall from Final Fantasy VIII/Matrix screensaver
laptop–Alexander vs. Bahamut from FFIX/FF series montage screensaver
At home:
Old PC–Thief: The Dark Project (Garrett at the Cathedral)/Seti
(I also have the few sounds that I use mapped to sarcastic remarks from Garrett–my friends think I recorded them myself.)
New PC–Funeral scene from FFX/United Devices protein analysis screensaver
Wallpaper: Sherilyn Fenn pic from Playboy
No screensaver. My monitor just turns off after an hour.
Wallpaper:
Home: Dali’s The Visage of War. I’ve had that same wallpaper for about 5 years and never thought about changing it.
Work: I change it every month or two. Presently, it’s the album cover for King Crimson’s In the Court of the Crimson King
Screensaver: My monitor shuts off after 30.
–The new clown in town
My wallpaper and screensaver are a set of images from Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. I’ve had them since last August, when I visited there, and I never get tired of them. I wish I could go back again this summer.
Wallpaper–A yummy picture of Spike from BTVS. Mmmmmm…Spike.
Screensaver-Just black.
I have no background image. My screen is solid black, and I have only 5 icons on my desktop. One is a program I use, the other four Windows won’t allow me to remove.
My screensaver is the Windows one that just scrolls a line of text. It says “Ars longa, vita brevis… Art is long, life is short.” It’s the line on all my business cards and my e-mail .sig.
Every time I have ever put an image on the background of my monitor, I have gotten sick of it within the hour, and it distracts me when I’m working or trying to write and I can see bits of the image outside the border of whatever window I’m working in.
Wallpaper: Stonehenge
Screensaver: The generic flying stars thing

Primary Monitor - Something To Hold On To

www.deaddreamer.com has fantastic wallpaper. I’m working my way through most of the collection, slowly.
I don’t have a screensaver, the monitors blank after 15 minutes.
work: wallpaper is a picture of the earth from space where you can see the cities with their lights, or something like that.
Screensaver is a psychedelic one I found on some website. Real trip when you come into the office and it’s dark, but the screensaver is on.
home:Wallpaper is a photo of my fiancee, on where she is actually smiling!
screensaver is a collage of Monet prints.
