ETA: Or so my Granddad told me. I don’t know how seriously it’s taken these days, but he remembers a few bar brawls back in the day.

You know, given my own Scottish ancestry, I am absolutely not at all surprised to hear people in Scotland were still (until fairly recently) getting into pub brawls over the outcome of an event in the 17th century.
