What memes or bumper stickers actually make a good point?

One of my son’s neighbor’s has a Darwin fish bumper sticker. It is a fish with legs, evolving into a land vertebrate.

“Who are you to tell me to question Authority?”
I’m not sure that’s a real bumper sticker, but it should be.

“Send Rambo to Lebanon”

I mean, he would definitely get shit done I saw his movies.

My favourite thing, probably not a meme, was a guy protesting something on TV. He was holding a sign that said “NOT COOL, MAN!”. I thought it was clever, not least because that could apply to almost everything ever.

I’ve received some positive comments from my current bumper sticker:

“F_CK PUTIN”, in which the “_” is the Ukrainian coat of arms.

Some years ago (I think it was during the election season of 1988, Bush the Elder / Dukakis, but maybe even before that), when the campaigning was getting especially ugly (by the standards of the time), there was a bumper sticker going around that said:

Don't vote. It only encourages them.

Lately, I’ve seen a science fish.

My all time favorite bumper sticker. “The More People I Meet the More I Like my Dog”.

I saw one that was a play on the usual “how’s my driving? dial 1-800-get-lost” and it said:
“How’s my driving? Tell my mother, she worries.”

Back when GW Bush was running for his second term in 2003 / 2004 a car in my office’s parking lot had what I thought at the time was a great bumper sticker:

My what an innocent time that was. We had to defeat Trump several times in 2020 before it stuck and may have to do it a lot more times than that in 2024 and still may not succeed.

Huh, I thought for sure there would be a Unicode character for the tryzub. Guess not.

Back in the 70s, Campus Crusade for Christ put out bumper stickers saying, simply, “I Found It!” The Jewish response was a bumper sticker with a Star of David that read “We Never Lost It.”

“Bark Less, Wag More”

My Karma ran over your Dogma.

Don’t take your organs to Heaven, Heaven knows we need them here.

My beloved sister was an organ donor, and had an Honor Walk at the hospital. I’d never heard of Honor walks it was a relatively new custom, but a wonderful one.

If you find it for sale, please let me know!

There was also the popular parody bumper sticker, “I stepped in it!”

Think Globally, Act Locally

I always liked that one.

Tis a variant on this meme:

'When Socialists complain about Capitalism, they describe Capitalism.

When Capitalists complain about Socialism, they describe Capitalism.’

Which, when you dig into their arguments, is more true than not.

“If You Want Peace Work For Justice.” I could pick it apart; it’s not a universal solution to war and unrest, but it’s decent sloganeering. Isn’t justice a good thing?

That’s good.

And yet young children are happy and creative, and people who know they’re dying within a few months/years are mostly not happy and creative.

Enh, I think the Catholic Church supports self-preservation.

Generally, yeah, but it wouldn’t get much traction today in Ukraine, or in the USA in 1944.

Yep.

Can’t agree with not voting in honest elections.
