I forgot to mention that my parents had a Roger Whittaker 8-track that I always enjoyed, and when I found it on CD I bought it. He’s “easy listening” for anyone who doesn’t know. My husband laughs and laughs.
The 4 wonder groups (droopy spandex and all) will be playing at the Reno Nevada Hilton on Aug. 9 and Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View CA on Aug. 11. I don’t know where you are, but I’m in the Bay Area CA.
I bet that they will all kick ass. Seriously, they were thiiiis close to be being totally washed up, I imagine they’ll be happpy as hell to play and get paid.
I am seriously thinking about it…but my husband is a 70’s dude, and laughs at my pictures. Well, he does acknowledge that he would have nailed my big hair to the bed, but he still laughs. Yeah, then we watch Dazed and Confused and I laugh.
“The Twelfth Of Never” by Donny Osmond. I had that song on a 45. Wore the thing out.
This came out in chat last night, so I figured I’d better post…
I loved Rick Astley. Remember him? Big black voice, Howdy Doody body? I had the biggest crush on him. First concert I ever went to as well.
I just wanted to mess up his hair! And the way he shimmied while he sang… cute cute cute.
I saw his last video a few years ago, and he was doing the long sensitive hair thing, parted on the side like. Not as cute.
Now, to keep this in perspective, at that time I was doing the great big metal chick hair like thing. RATT RULES!!!
(was that Steven guys bulge for real?)
I am a dedicated classical & classic rock man. I have to admit that I liked Neil Diamond (I twitch just thinking it) and as for Saysha and Radio Disney, I know the feeling (almost anyone with kids 7-15 does). I almost have the latest B.S.B CD memorized.
Hm. I might have to send you that picture after all…
the late Wendy O’Williams of the “Plasmatics”
ah…
…“I hate myself for loving you…”
-brings back fond memories of those 1970’s slasher movies!
Eminem.
Esprix
You know Esprix. Of all the answers, that is probably the only one where you have a right to be ashamed. I mean, how can you even go back into the ask the gay guy thread. really?
I think I’ll go for a walk outside now.
The summer sun’s calling my name.
I hear you now. I just can’t stay inside all day.
I gotta get out, get me some of those rays.
Everyone’s laughing…Sunshine day!
Everyone’s smiling…Sunshine day!
Everybody seems so happy today…
It’s a sunshine day!!!
Yes, ladies and gentlemen. It’s the Brady Bunch! I have their “Greatest Hits” CD.
Can I still play here??
::runs and hides in shame::
Monkees
Partridge Family
Johnny Horton
New Christy Minstrels
Gene Pitney
It’s all stuff I listened to as a kid.
My sister and I had our own record player but
no records, so we borrowed records out of our
parents’ collection. The first album I ever
bought was the Grease Soundtrack, right after I
saw the movie, at age 8.
ace of base. oooh the shame of it all.
When I was about 12, relatives called my mom and, figuring I was a Hip Teen Wannabe, decided to buy me a record for Christmas. They asked who was my favorite. For those brief few months, it was :::: cringe :::: Barry Manilow.
Somewhere in the depths of junk I have accumulated over the years are about 5 Barry albums, including a greatest hits. About 17 minutes after receiving that one, I got turned on to Neil Young.
My my hey hey,
Rock and roll is here to stay …
{SIGH} I can’t help it - I think he’s catchy, musically (or whatever passes for it in rap these days). So, yes, if he comes on the radio, I listen. However, I absolutely positively would never ever actually buy one of his albums. But listening is just listening. And regardless, I still think he’s a :wally.
(Ew, that didn’t come out right - when you type that in it comes out looking like “I still think he’s a wally.” I don’t like that.)
Esprix
Well hell Esprix, that’s what Napster and CD burners are for.
Don’t worry your little secret is safe with us.
I went to an *NSYNC concert Monday. And I loved it.
And I think Lance might be my soulmate.
cringe
My first CD was Rod Stewart, followed by Michael Bolton. Mikey was a gift, but I actually wanted the Rod one - I loved that song “Forever Young.”
Wow that really horrifies me.
