ENTP. About 10 years ago we were required to take the test at work to enable our boss to determine which functions each of us should perform in a new project. The project was a huge success. However I believe that had more to do with taking the test as a group and it breaking the ice.
I am an INTJ or ISTJ.
I’m not answering the poll right now. The thing is, I’ve taken these tests before, and on many questions, they don’t have one answer which I would prefer. Sometimes I would select all answers, depending on the situation, sometimes NONE of the answers would apply to me at all. It’s like those quizzes in women’s magazines which ask if I’d rather watch a soap opera or a sporting event, and there’s no other choice. But my answer would be that I wouldn’t watch either voluntarily, one is just as boring and mind numbing as the other. Let me play my video game!
Sorry, man. I did search first.:smack:
Well, we are at 87% of N Intuitive vs 13% S Sensory.
I’d think given the definitions that N’s would be more interested in taking tests like Myers-Briggs and it seems the data seems to back this. N’s look for underlying meanings and connections while S’s look to what is concrete. A test that would satisfy an N, while maybe not so much an S.
It said I’m an INFP (an “Idealist Healer”). The summary and description, I have to say, sounds pretty dead-on. I’m reserved, don’t like to be in large crowds or formal settings, and have pursued a life as an artist. But I do take these things with a grain of salt.
I’m very INFP. I test as INFP every single time, and the description fits me extremely well. I’ve seen bunches of these threads already, and INTP seems to dominate here every time. My tribe is running a strong second. The very lopsided way the results are stacking up is interesting.
My recollection is that INTJs dominate here, and the current poll bears that out.
If as Musicat claims that the test means nothing, or is equivalent to a horoscope, then the results should be random, or should be similar to the rest of the general population. It isn’t so there is something about this bulletin board, or bulletin boards in general, that attract a type.
I’s are at 80%. If it is true that I’s spend time thinking about things before communicating rather than talking directly to people, it makes some sense that they will appreciate bulletin boards more than their E counterpart. Maybe E’s make up the majority, or a higher percentage, on more direct communication communities.
INTP with a strong J.
As expected, most of the members here are INxx.
I think we INTPs cannot tolerate being other people, and tend to flock together…
Internet forums attract INxxs. You’ll find almost any kind of forum is dominated by those types.
I have seen this poll done here many times over the years. It always comes up nearly the same way which is something the test has in its favor. It is showing reliability which is a key determining factor that it is measuring something. People have come and gone from this board but the reported results always match a distribution that isn’t found in the general population. I have taken the actual Meyers Briggs test a number of times since I was a child and it always comes back with the same results and my type is one of the less common ones but so are many other people’s here.
I can’t say if the test is valid in all the assessments and predictions it makes which is another key factor. I do know that my borderline INTP/INTJ description fits me very well even down to occupation and everything else. It isn’t a horoscope. I have to laugh because one of the key occupations of an INTP is game show contestant. You ask about personal experiences with game shows in most places and you hear 3rd hand stories. On this board, you get a thread with several hundred replies detailing personal experiences.

We’ve done this before, and thus far I am the Dope’s only open ISFP.
As I said last time, my I- and F-itudes are pronounced, my S status is middling, and my P-ness is huge.
I’m an INTP, and while I am not sure about the validity of the test, finding out my results did help me to understand some important things about myself and helped me realize why people react to me the way they do. This awareness has helped me communicate better. I knew that sometimes I acted in a way that put people off, but until I found out my type and researched it, I honestly didn’t know what I was doing/saying to make them react to me the way they did.
INTJ’s are supposed to be one of the rarest personality types, yet we represent the biggest group in the poll. Something’s wrong here Or we’re all somehow drawn to this board…
I think the “fighting ignorance” idea appeals to the intellectual, adversarial stance of many INTJs.
Golf clap
well played sir
Do INTJs still dominate this forum?
As in when they give you the test you say
