Hello,
I live in a big German city and our public transport is pretty good and used by people from all walks of life. But like in any big city there are always some odd passengers. I was in the train for a while and decided to relocate and stand in a different place when I noticed a bad smell and looked in the front to see a 50-60 year old guy sitting with a face densely covered in pustules. I said “nope” and walked away so I didn’t take a good look at him. I just remember the pustules being yellow, all dense next to each other, medium size bumps and I could even see them through his short black hair. I saw him stand up and walk slowly with a bent back but no crane and he was also only wearing a sweater when everyone was wearing a jacket and since he had nothing on him I assume he isn’t homeless.
I’m sorry if this sounds insensitive but I’m just really anxious over germs and stuff and you know with COVID and some zombie tv shows on my mind I got to worry if it could have been a contagious condition. Usually I would assume it’s just some chronic cosmetic problem but the smell together with the physical impairment is what made me worry. Any clue what it could have been? I searched the internet and couldn’t find any case like it. I’m sorry I couldn’t provide a better description. My first worry was Mpox but all the articles for that are from 2022-early 2023 so that doesn’t seem to be an issue anymore? Do you think the physical impairment was independent from the skin condition? Are there even any contagious diseases with physical symptoms like that in Europe? Ever saw anything like this? This makes me not want to use the public transport anymore.
