What? No Dr Who thread?

Is nobody bothering to say anything about the first Dr Who with Matt Smith? Not even to complain what an abortion they have made of the new theme tune?

(Or am I going blind in my old age?)

There is no link for Dr Who since said show doesn’t exist.

However, Doctor Who

Not trying to be mean, it’s just a really big deal in Whovian circles. You don’t abbreviate someone’s name (although you can initialize it.)

In some Whovian circles. In some of the more sane circles it’s no big thing. People write “Dr Who” all the time and everyone generally knows what they mean. Even the BBC sometimes do it.

Are you calling me insane? :stuck_out_tongue:

The whole point of inanities like this is it helps distinguish the diehard fans from the more casual ones. If the diehard are doing it, too, you lose the whole distinction. It is generally useful to know which type of fan I’m talking to.

Plus, it honestly bugs me, because, to someone unaffiliated with the series, it looks more like the guy’s name is Who, and he just happens to have a doctorate.

But really, it was only a joke.

I do ever so beg your pedantic Whovian pardon. I’ve only been watching it since 1963.

I do not know who that guy is but THE DOCTOR is Tom Baker, the new girl gets a pass because she is a gorgeous, green eyed, redhead.

Tom Baker!
