What? No Warrior Challenge thread -or- U-S-A! U-S-A!

Yeah, it may be like some show on the History Channel but I don’t have cable so I was able to enjoy Warrior Challenge for what it was: a chance for the USAF to trounce the Brits whenever they could. The first person to mention the other program will be whacked with a blunted sword.

Spoiler with jongoism alert!

Cast your mind back to the Viking episode. The announcer says, “Will the Americans’ military training help them overcome the experience of the British?”

Lemme see. The Brits were mostly BLOODY RIOT COPS including one woman BUT SHE TEACHES SHIELD TECHNIQUES TO RIOT COPS while the Yanks with so much "military training"were EFFING MECHANICS AND OUR BIGGEST AND STRONGEST GUY HAD A DISLOCATED COLLARBONE!!! Yet we even tied them in the shield wall, THAT WOMAN’S PROFESSION, and won overall. HUZZAH!

And, most importantly, the archeologist acquitted herself well, though not well enough, as a gladiator.

Overall, looked like fun if one doesn’t mind getting beat up.

Not sure what you mean here. Do you mean regular mechanics? Because they could be in the reserves or something. Or do you mean mechanics in the military? Because I’m sure they get plenty of training too.

Regular Air Force mechanics. I’m not sure how well they are drilled in either athletics or tactics but, based on friends and family in the USAF, my guess would be “not at all.” Heck, my daughter wouldn’t be allowed in the freaking NAVY because of her asthma but the AF said, “So what?”

Were these guys mechanics in the Marines I’d be less impressed with their success. Their being in the country club of the military* is what makes it impressive.

    • a BIG  after that. My only excuse is that I was an Air Force brat, though I’m happy to encourage horror stories from anybody from another branch who spent time on an Air Force base. Typical comment I’ve heard from those guys: “They had hot food! And FRESH SHEETS! It was the only time during my hitch that I was COMFORTABLE!
