What Not to Wear -- The Grim Reaper Edition

I got this idea from my mom (Pepper Mill) who watches What Not to Wear. As far as I know, it’s her favorite Show on TLC. So I’ve been wndering – why does the Grim Reaper wear a black cloak and a scythe? (okay,I know that the Grim Reaper doesn’t actually WEAR the sythe, but it’s kind of like an accsessory and comes in handy when reaping people) Why can’t he get a wig or something? Get Something more menacing to reap with, like a machete :eek:? Go to the Caribbean and get a tan? And then he could get a black truck with a license plate that said ''IREAP U" Then he could wear a black sweatshirt that said Reaper (like the TV show), and grey jeans or khakis. I can picture Stacy and Clinton (hosts of What Not to Wear) throwing out the black cloaks .

Okay, what does “post for” mean? If a family member has a question, must we pretend it’s actually OUR question? We can’t say, “FamilyMember wants me to ask this to you guys” or “FamilyMember just passed by and noticed the thread and said, ‘Buncha geeks!’”? Are we now required to not allow any family member to have any interaction without paying up? Is this like the “no sharing” rule at a restaurant?

I just saw Savannah’s post on preview: Why update his image? With a question like that, I can only assume that you’re still wearing stirrup pants.

That is SO not true.

I tossed them out last year.

No, NO makeup from that blonde who looks like a stripper trying to look classy. Not for GR, no way. And no haircut (he has no hair–doesn’t he?)
It may be fashion, but it’s gotta be Real, ya know? I say upgrade the tunic to black silk, perhaps with a gathered neckline and some kickpleats. The scythe should be well honed and clean and proportionate to GR. And he needs sandals–leather, baby.

That should do it.

My daughter wants to know why the grim reaper wears black and carries a scythe

Or when we’re in GQ and want to settle an argument between two friends (one of whom is not a member) does the other person have to sign up before we can post a thread
