Has ayone comiled a statitistic for the average length of a game?
(and if the majority do go over, how long b4 the time alotted gets bumped up? of couse then thetll put more ads in and the games will prob go over the new limit)
For the purpiose of this question-games that go into overtime are not counted as either a game that was done on time or over.

I can’t find the figures, but regulation games in the NFL are pretty close to 3 hours. The clock doesn’t stop as much in the NFL as it does in the NCAA.
The NFL is keenly interested in how long its games takes.
I found the time of game stat for nine non-overtime games played yesterday from espn.com. A few weren’t shown there.
The times were 2:48, 2:56, 3:03, 3:05, 3:10, 3:15, 3:16, 3:18, and 3:22.
Have you noticed the starting time for the second game is now five or fifteen minutes after the hour? First year I’ve noticed that.
