What personality characteristics do cult leaders typically have that allow them to have such influence over people? What personality characteristics or living situations do cult members typically have that allow them to be victimized so easily??
I ask this only because I want to know what to watch out for.

What I meant to say was cult leaders generall have a strong personality and are adept at reading people and lieing to them. They also have (supposed) authority through knowledge, age, or something else.

According to it, a cult leader is usually male, charismatic, and domineering, “closely controlling [the membership] physically, sexually and emotionally.” It includes many other things to watch out for when identifying dangerous cults.

Yeah, well I’d like to know at what age these “powers” are supposed to be completely developed. I mean, are people born with hypnotic personalities? If so, why wasn’t Charles Manson running a cult out of kindergarten? Has a charismatic ten year old child, for example, ever gone to jail for influencing other children in almost supernatural ways? At specifically what age was Manson’s (or Rasputin’s or anyone’s) personality considered to have the attributes in the quote above?
