What posters have the opposite personalities in real life?

You’ve DONE a 6’5" trucker named Bubba?!?!?!?!

Haven’t we all?

Hey, I was expecting a giant flaming eyeball, okay? Also, I didn’t realize that the lord of Mordor doesn’t like tomatoes. Tolkein never covered that.

I post less than I talk IRL.

I’m pretty much the same… except that here I often hold back from making silly wasteful “me too” posts or lame jokes. In real life, unfortunately, they escape.

I’m slightly more amusing in real life than I am here. But only slightly.

Also, I could teach “Swearing For Sailors: Graduate Seminar” at the Naval Academy. For some reason that doesn’t come out here that much.

I’m way different in real life. I’m so chatty in real life, I’ll talk to just about anybody. Online it’s different because it’s like I actually have to think about what I’m going to say before I say it, then I just don’t say anything because I think it sounds retarted.

But that’s how I am in real life. I talk a lot and most of what I say is just stupid stuff where I’m trying to get people to laugh.

I talk more in real life than online. I’m also much ruder and less feminine-acting. I pit people everyday IRL, but prefer to keep a more mild and meek face on the dope. I also act differently on other message boards. I have been on boards where I was nothing but a total bitch.

I like to reflect the personalities of people I hang out with, so how I will act at a Dopefest depends on who I am with and how I am feeling at the time.

Same here, but I tend to hug people A LOT, and tend to get stuck on one to tell everyone for a day. This past week has had both a “Have you seen my stapler?” day (really, it was gone!) and a “You’re doing a GREAT job, _______!” Mind you, I’m no where near a supervisory/managerial level, but I still couldn’t keep from saying it. I’m very ADD.

I oscillate regularly between being good-humoured, pleasant and witty and a grumpy little sausage: sadly, that’s reflected here too, except maybe the witty part. I could blame it on medication, the time of the month or being a Gemini, but the unfortunate truth is that I can be a right dickhead at times. If it’s any consolation, five minutes after being rude I always regret it, and I don’t hold grudges. Well, not many.

I’m nothing like my Internet persona in real life.

IRL I’m an obnoxious, loud, overbearing idiot who has no idea what he’s taking about.

What?

Aw, Cal, you’re nothing like that, honest. hug

I wouldn’t dare flirt with a guy in real life–I’d be friendly, but I’d probably blush, stutter, and become stupidly clumsy if I tried to say anything like I do here.

So, we’re mostly a bunch of closet introverts.

I rarely flirt on the boards, but never IRL, because I married a woman from Wisconsin and I don’t need my knees broken. And if you think it’s easy to be in the SCA and never flirt with anybody, you try it.

I have a lot fewer typos IRL and just yesterday a cow-orker said to me “You’re about the quietest person I’ve ever worked with.” Nobody here has ever told me that.

What’s the SCA?

Please tell your wife she is a very lucky woman and not to break your knees.

Well, I’ve never flattened Tokyo, and have very little Gaos-fighting experience.

But I am a giant turtle.

Thank you. Now come clean the watermelon off my screen. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sure thing. Can I borrow your shirt for a sec?

I take it these would not be the people you’ve farted on?

SCA: Society for Creative Anacrhronism. Medieval recreationism, kinda like a pre-Ren Fair for fun and personal education rather than for profit.

I’ll take that! runs off
