Eight p.m. is too late for music? I can’t see nine or ten but eight? That’s still early evening.
Any time is too late for music “at full volume.” That’s just inconsiderate.
And IIIIIIIIII-I-I-I-I will always love YOUU-UUU-UUU-UUUUUU-UUUUU-UUUUU-UUU-U!!!
Fair enough
Fuck Bending Spoons. They are the epitome of enshitifacation. They come in, buy up a company, lay off most of the staff, & then charge for what was free & / or raise prices dramatically on what was paid, all while mostly doing away with innovation, improvements, & bug fixes. The only thing they add are new paid ‘features’
Meetup, Komoot, Eventbrite, WeTransfer, AOL(?). Now it’s Vimeo, a video hosting site. I just got an email, I have one week (which includes a holiday weekend) before my content will be unavailable, it looks like even to me, unless I delete most of it (to get below the ridiculously small free tier) or $$$. I have YEARS worth of videos up there; some can just go away, but some I’ll want to move over to YouTube
BASTARDS!!!
The only nice thing about Bending Spoons is it doesn’t take a mentalist to predict their future behavior.
They can sear in the depths of hell along with Gordon Brothers, who are currently liquidating the company I work for and so the store that I helped open, now manage, and love.
Can you download it for now? Then later upload what you want to YouTube? There are sites that can let you download to MP3 for free, and probably even a browser plugin for it.
I have over 100 videos up there; granted many are old & wouldn’t be re-uploaded but it’s a legacy of a lot of my work over the years & also I’d lose the history of how many views each one has. Vimeo also has ‘collections’ so all of my videos of Subject A is in one collection & Subject B is a different collection, etc. (YouTube may have that now but I don’t believe they did back in the day).
I have all the source videos but they are scattered in various folders of what they were from & by year. Its a bunch of work to find & then upload those that i want to all because these enshitification bastoids want to charge me for what has been online for in some cases a dozen years now.
That’s so frustrating. Technology can be a curse in situations like this. I’ve had similar experiences.
It’s not technology, its VC (VULTURE Capitol) who has a history of making every thing they buy not only a worse experience but ALSO costing more for that worse experience. In this case what has been online for years will now cost me for what was free for ever; & storage is a lot cheaper than it used to be.
You got that right. This is a human problem on their part.
Suggestion (albeit a sucky one): for now, pay up. Then store them elsewhere at your leisure. Then cut the cord.
In my previous comment I wad using the term technology to include everything we are forced to use.
Including the often limited choices of platforms.
I hate putting my trust in these platforms. I’ve lost so much through the years. I’ve had to learn to let go even though it frustrates and saddens me.
I just had surgery - mastectomy plus DIEP flap.
This requires surgical drains for a bit.
It also requires an abdominal binder.
Binder + drains is not a good combo. And the PA I saw for followup at 9 days a)scolded me for not wearing it 24/7 (which is far more than the doctor said) and b) refused to acknowledge that the binder was actively painful with the drains still in place (now that 2 are gone it’s tolerable).
So:fuck them for being inconsistent
Fuck the hospital for only having two sizes of abdominal binder: too small and way too large. And for them both to be badly designed (Velcro bit only attached in an area that is narrower than the Velcro, at least on the too-small one). The one I bought for myself is too large but it can be made as tight as needed.
That sounds frustrating. Medical care should at least be consistent. Hope you continue to feel better.
Suggestion (albeit a sucky one): for now, pay up.
Them? Never! They have destroyed EVERY website they’ve bought (& the jobs of people who worked at them, too). They are all about extracting money, even if it ruuns the long term product.
Then store them elsewhere at your leisure. Then cut the cord
I don’t even think I can sign up for just a month, even if I wanted to, minimum if a year, but like I saud, I have every single video on Vimeo, it juat a matter of both finding bith the time, & then the videos in the specific folders where they are saved.
Finally had to replace my 25+ year old computer keyboard because it was starting to insert extra characters when typing. Thankfully I had a wired one just hanging around. I also have 3 or 4 wireless ones which come whenever I get a new PC, but I hate the hassle of replacing the batteries.
Thankfully even though this keyboard has been in storage for 10 years it works perfectly, and it still has media keys so I can control my music while playing full screen games. It’s slightly stickier than my old one but that’s okay. The part I hate the most is that the backspace key is smaller so I have been hitting the \ key by mistake a lot today.
(I have, however, been made a fan of wireless mice. The last time I tried one it had an unacceptable delay. This time I tried it and am a fan of not having the wire get caught on anything. Keyboards, not typically moving, don’t have that issue. The improved mouse functionality is worth the battery running out occasionally.)
Standing at the bus stop. A white truck pulls up.
You going far?
Me, " Do you know me?"
I dont know.
Me-
no.
No thanks, mr. Castro
Wise move !
