We have a bonafide 9/11 conspiracy nut who works in our library. The thing is that he’s a genuinely nice guy most of the time, but when the conversation turns to 9/11, he gets this fixed look in his eye and raises his voice by 15 decibels or so, and starts talking about how George Bush wrote about the attacks in code in his diary a couple of hours before the planes hit.
And any conversation you have with him tends to turn to that topic sooner or later. The hell of it is that you would never recognize him as a nutcase just by looking.
A couple of days ago, we were out for a walk and an elderly Sikh gentleman excitedly ran up to my SO and repeatedly asked her, “Are you a teacher?!”

I know this is exactly what she said, because she slowed her car down, and when she saw the baffled expressions on our faces, she repeated herself. Note: It was a Friday night.
