What’s going on here, google search related

In this GQ thread:

I thought I’d help by linking to a instructional video. So I entered:

“NATIONAL/SPECTRUM BRANDS HHI N100-044 V1953 SN Storm DR Latch“

in to google search and then clicked the “video” tab and came up with a bunch of weird links. Mostly the same image with a bunch of nonsense words. Clicking them brought up an apparent push for Amazon stocks. I don’t believe it is of course but why so many and why no door latch video?

I agree, the video links are indeed strange. I think there is probably no video that will match all those keywords, it’s a very specific search. So Google is so determined to show you something that it concentrates on words like HHI, SN, and DR, which can all be stock symbols. Most likely the video results are basically spam because the video uploader tagged it with a bunch of keywords to try to get views.

You would probably have better luck searching for something more generally specific like: national storm door latch install

If you put the word national in quotes that means the search MUST contain that word, so could also try: “national” storm door latch install
