What’s the better bed comforter, down or silk or other?

Pretty much what the title says. I didn’t know until recently that comforters could be made out of silk. Opinions?

Silk anything on a bed us useless. It slides right off. Tried silk pajamas and silk sheets one time, slid off the bed and didn’t stop till I hit the couch in the living room.

OP is talking about silk fill, not silk covered.

I prefer silk to down. You don’t get the poofy look of down but I like the weight. They’re about the same price pint as well. Wool fill is making a comeback too, I haven’t tried a duvet but have a wool pillow that I quite like.

I’ve had both down and silk comforters — most recently (and currently) silk. It’s my first silk comforter and I much prefer it to down. I like its heft, it’s a little heavier than down and that heft feels more comforting (haha) on me, and boy does it keep us warm!

Also, while down is great, with silk we don’t get the occasional, random feather whose quill pokes itself out of the duvet and works its way out.

I have wool, and I prefer it. But I like a heavier weight.

I’ve never heard of a silk filled comforter! I just have a regular poly-filled comforter. It’s warm enough but I put a quilt on top of it because I like the weight more than anything. I’ve thought of looking into those weighted comforters.

I don’t like down-filled anything. Feathers and sharp quills are always poking out.
