I forgot to mention egg nog.
And I forgot to mention mashed potatoes.
Holy crap, people, shrimp chips will be my undoing one day.
Pecans. Just fresh, raw pecans. I’ll eat until my jaw is sore and keep eating. I have sores in my mouth right now, and I’ll eat more when I get home. I am so sad.
Best image I’ve read here in a long time. Poor, sad little hedgehog.
For me, it’s:
gummi bears
kringle (pronounced KRING-luh, a Norwegian pastry and old family recipe)
rice krispy treats, but only if they’re homemade
butterscotch pudding
I cannot walk away from an open bag of Doritos.
I know that my flesh is weak, and ye though I walk through the aisle of the shadow of snackfoods, I fear no Doritos, for my willpower is with me, and ye verily I turn aside from them.
I have not bought any Doritos in, like 10 years. Scout’s honor.
But my so-called “friends” buy the goddamn things and open them in front of me. And it’s always the frigging garbage-bag-size “Party Bag.” grumble grumble grumble
Also, the hubby and I made the mistake of opening a bag of Giardelli milk chocolate chips last night, just to have a few for a snack. I mean, it’s just chocolate chips, right? We’d just have a few and then close the bag up with a twistie. Uh-huh. Let us just say that the cat was batting the empty bag around on the floor when I got up this morning.
Cashews, pistachios, pecans, salted smoked almonds, “german” almonds, (the sweet cinnamony ones) Guylian chocolate praline seashells, chocolate chip cookies made with Giardelli dark chocolate chips, homemade cocoa (from melted chocolate, not powder), homegrown tomato or cucumber slices, the summer pears from my childhood, (lots of fruit doesn’t have the same taste anymore because it’s been bred out in an attempt to get other traits) homemade lasagna, Nutella on Ritz crackers, a good guacomole, KFC gravy, (yeah I know, but for some reason I love the stuff blush) Dr. Pepper, GOOD coffee or cappuchino, and Spicy Doritos are my “crack”. I don’t get most of those very often at all, they are too expensive or out of season most of the time.
Fritos spicy bean dip. As soon as I crack the can, the whole thing’s as good as in my stomach. Accompanied with either a bag of Big Dip Fritos or good tortilla chips.
Abbie, I hear ya on the Ferrero Rocher. That stuff is gooood. I like to put the whole thing in my mouth and melt it for a minute or so before crunching down.
If you think it’s good on Ritz crackers, you should try it on raisin bread. It’s like a chocolate covered raisin sandwich! Mmmmmm!
Sweet tarts.
What Podkayne said about Doritos.
Dulse - a very strong-flavoured seaweed that I have heard is nice if you fry it up and put it in a sandwich, but I’ve never managed to get home before I’ve eaten it all.
Crispy Kreme donuts - the regular glazed ones. Fresh.
You either love them or hate them. I refuse to buy them, because I know (from personal experience) that I can eat a box of 12 in about 15 minutes. You don’t even need to chew, really, they just sort of disolve into a mouthfull of sugar and oil right in your mouth.
Just thinking about them is spiking my blood sugar. Delicious!
Food: Pringles, Snickers and Golden Delicious Apples (though admittedly only one qualifies as “food”.
Drink: Cream Soda, Nehi Peach Soda and Sobe’s Blizzard mmm! Conconutty goodness!
Feta cheese- the real sheep’s milk kind, NEVER the pukey cow’s milk stuff.
Kalamata olives
Spinach- doesn’t matter what form. I’ll heartily inhale even the slimy canned variety.
Glazed Devil’s Food donuts- I can’t even buy those anymore, they’re so bad for you.
Pineapple- Especially fresh. I’ll get sores in my mouth from the acid, and I’ll still eat till I’m sick.
Lay’s Limon chips- thankfully I’ve only seen these once. I couldn’t stop eating till the bag was empty.
Dried Japanese wasabi peas.
Salsa Doritos for me. My brother introduced hubby and I to them one night. We ate the whole bag instead of dinner.
Stroopwaffels.
Pim’s Biscuits – orange flavor, please.
Cheezits. (literally ate a box a week in uni. And no, I didn’t turn orange, although I should have.)
