I’ve been ordering either a lox with cream cheese, or turkey with avocado for way too long.
I need new sandwich ideas.

Roast beef on rye with pepperjack cheese, banana peppers and spicy mustard.
Mmmm.
Take off the pepperjack, put some cole slaw and a dill pickle on the side and I’ll have what sven’s having
Pastrami on rye with mustard. Slaw on the side. Dr. Brown’s Cream Soda to drink.
Montreal-style smoked meat sandwich, a Bánh Mì, or a Reuben, depending on mood and availability.
Roast beef on a kaiser roll, with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, and a little bit of mustard.
Or a really awesome BLAT.
Don’t they have a menu on a board? I’m one of those people who just don’t know and will stand there for an hour unless I have a definite list of options…Anyway, I’ll take have salami, roasted red peppers, and provolone with mustard on a hard roll, please.
Pastrami on rye with mustard or corned beef on rye with mustard. This assumes you’re getting it at a NYC deli.
I order the Marilyn Monroe. It’s breast of turkey and mayo on white bread. Or the Mickey Mouse, with ham & swiss, mustard and pickles.
Banana bread, pastrami, cottage cheese club sandwich to honor the late great Mitch Hedberg.
Most recently I’ve enjoyed ordering ham and cheese on Jewish rye on a Friday during lent. Mmmmm sacrelicious.
I like a Grinder, which usually has ham, salami, roast beef, turkey, mustard, mayo etc.
Jason’s deli doesn’t have a grinder. My standard order at Jasons is a Club Royale, which has turkey breast, ham, bacon, Swiss, Cheddar cheeses and honey mustard. Really good, but I wish they sold Grinders.
Corned beef, NLT 2" thick, preferably on some very dark colored bread.
Pastrami will work too.
I’ll have the Reuben.
Pastrami on rye with mustard works for me too.
Corned beef and Swiss on rye, with mustard. Grilled if they do that. Sweet tea, and either cole slaw or potato chips, unless they have fruit salad, in which case I want the fruit salad.
Very occasionally I’ll get a tuna on rye, and luxuriate in being able to eat tuna in peace without first having made a sacrifice to the Feline Overlords.
Ham, Swiss, lettuce, tomato and brown mustard on rye.
I have several go to sandwiches. If they have rare roast beef, then roast beef and Swiss on rye or pumpernickel. Other favorites include Reubens, or liverwurst on white or rye.
I thought a Marilyn Monroe was champagne and potato chips, with Nembutal ground up in it.
I’m a traditionalist: lean corn beef on rye, with mustard. Pickle and cream soda on the side, and potato chips. With Nembutal.
That’s the diet version.
Roast beef on rye with Russian. The deli classic.
It’s hard to go wrong with a Reuben. Unless of course they don’t have a grill, or they’re a Jewish deli that won’t serve corned beef with Swiss cheese. In that case I’ll just pick something that looks interesting off the menu.
