What should be written on an engraving plate for a 50th wedding anniversary gift?

My parents 50th wedding anniversary is April 4 and my wife and I are buying them a clock that comes with an engraving plate. The plan is to take it up to a local store and have it engraved and put on the front.

We have no idea what to put on there, though. Just their names and their wedding date? (April 4, 1970)? More than that?

We are either getting this item or something similar. It comes with a 2.5 x .5 inch engraving plate.
Would appreciate any thoughts. I’ve never bought something like this before.

That’d work. Or you could translate into Latin “more than yesterday, less than tomorrow” or something like that.
If they’ve got a good sense of humor, “And to think everyone said it wouldn’t last
