What should I get at Sharper Image?

I received a $50 gift card as a thank you for work well done

While I am grateful to be rewarded, anything I want at Sharper Image far exceeds balance limits of the card and my bank account.

Are there any great wonders of the world available from Sharper Image for less than $100 total ($50 out of pocket, $50 gift card)?

I was initially going to reccommend “directions to a store that sells better quality stuff for less,” but since you have a Sjarper Image gift card (and because my initial response would have been rude), I guess I should stick to SI stuff.

Here’s their catalog, so we can all pick and choose:

The New York Times Recipe Master could be kind of useful, and it’s only $30.

Coin sorter and counter for $50

Then there’s the $60 Turbo Groomer, which just looks wrong. Absolutely wrong.

Trust me, if the gift card had been anywhere but Sharper Image, it would’ve been spent the weekend I got it!!

Anyone want to trade it for $50 Target gift card? or for any store that actually carries something I need?

I have a $40 card from one of our vendors. I’m getting the Hummer flashlight.

Get a receipt, so you can return the POS when it breaks.

Cant you just buy something for $50.00

wait a week, return it and get a cash refund???

Speak not ill of the Turbo Groomer - Best. Clipper. Evah! Seriously, I opened this thread with the idea to recommend the Turbo Groomer. I’ve had one for 3 years and can not recommend it highly enough.

If you are a man, own a Turbo Groomer.

No! Don’t listen to him, guys! This thing BLOWS, at least when used with the rotating blade made for nose and ear hair. It tickles so much it’s intolerable, and when you do manage to force yourself to let it contact a hair, 50% of the time it yanks it instead of cutting it. Worst $60 I’ve ever spent. Stick to scissors for nose hairs.

I’ve never been as disappointed with an outfit as I am with Sharper Image. We got the exercise ball (my husband and I are new on the workout scene) that is supposed to exert 32 lbs. of pressure on your arm when you rotate the gyro thingy. Well, it doesn’t, and it broke the first day (string got jammed up). We got $80 binoculars for 1/2 with the purchase of another item (a shitty flashlight). Both items sucked. I also got him a tire gauge that is illuminated, but the part you read is beneath your thumb, so you can’t read it…illuminated or not!

They suck. My brother-in-law got the massaging chair for about a grand. That thing is awesome, but I don’t think this falls into your budget plan.

Repeat. They suck. Get something that can’t be fucked up, like a footbath or something.
