What should I get from Amazon for 20 bucks?

I decided to move into the 21st century, and bought a digital camera on Black Friday. It looks like a keeper, so I’m going to buy a case, cleaning kit, car charger, and extra batteries, which it didn’t come with. I found some good deals on Amazon, and all that comes to about 30 bucks.

But the shipping is another ten. If I spend 20 more dollars on merchandise, the shipping is free.

So, what would you get from Amazon for 20 bucks? I honestly can’t think of anything else I need, but I guess I can always use some little electronic gadget, or maybe a great deal on socks or underwear or something.

What would YOU get if I gave you a $20 gift card that included free shipping?

How much storage does the camera come with? Maybe more SD cards?

That would be a great idea, but I already have plenty of them.

Books are out; I read a lot, but it’s all on the PC, and electronic books don’t count for the shipping deal.

The comforter gave me an idea, just because it said microfiber. I can’t use a comforter, but I might get some car wash/wax stuff.

How about something like this? I can guarantee you will gets lots of use out of it.

Seriously Amazon sells everything. The only way to save money buy spending money is to buy something you were already going to buy elsewhere anyway.

Streamlight Nano flashlights. They are currently an add-on item and less than $6 each. Get a few and keep them for gifts. They are seriously great to have on a keychain. You might want to get a few cards of replacement batteries, too, as the little button cells are hard to find in stores.

People who get them from me seem to think they cost $15 or so and always show me that they are using them.

You can be boring and get cleaning supplies or bathroom stuff you’d be buying anyway. They often have digital coupons that can be applied.

If you have something to say to me, come right out and say it.

Thanks, I never would have thought of that, but you can always use a flashlight. I’ll get at least a couple.

Whatever household supplies you are low on and would otherwise be buying locally in the near future. Or food. Maybe coffee or tea in bulk. Though some items are much more expensive than in stores, so you need to watch out.

Also, are there no Christmas presents you need to buy? Or decorations? It seems solar-powered Christmas lights are big this year.

No, we don’t do Christmas presents any more. Not the thread to explain why, but briefly, now everybody gets exactly what they want, instead of what somebody else thinks they want, and we like this way better.

That’s the kind of thing I usually buy when I need to add something to my Amazon cart to hit the amount necessary for free shipping. Razor blades, dental floss, toothpaste or some other thing that I need to buy anyhow and will be consumed.

Especially if you add this to your order.

(unfortunately it’s out of stock at the moment, but similar substitutes are available).

Unless that’s a combo package, I’d recommend getting a generic cigarette lighter/car charger with just a usb end in it (preferably two usb ports) that way you can use one tip to charge your camera, phone, & any other small electronics without needing dedicated cigarette lighter cords for each device. There’s pretty much only four usb to ___ cords these days:

Liquid Ass

I know we sell it because a package of it leaked all over me one day. I just want to be able to say I know someone who has a bottle of it for bragging rights at work.

This thread is not going the way I hoped.

Welcome.

The Nanos are metal and resist wear very well, though the finish may wear a bit. They are my “go-to” gift.

Giving flashlights to men is like giving jewelry to women. (I apologize in advance for the sexism. Most women like them, too.)

I like this keychain light. It’s a few more dollars, but it’s rechargeable through a micro-USB port. It has adjustable brightness - one press on the button turns it on at a dim setting, another push makes it brighter.
