I bought myself a Kindle Fire with some Christmas money, and it comes with a free month of Prime membership. I watched Time Bandits last night, and this evening I saw the first episode of The Tudors. I’ll probably watch at least a few more episodes of that, but I’m not in love with it. I’ve seen Arrested Development and all the new Doctor Whos. There are quite a few classic Who eps I haven’t seen, but besides that, what should I watch?
So far, I have to say I’m not very inclined to pay the $79 to keep Prime after the month is up. In fact, I’m seriously thinking about returning the Kindle Fire. It’s a bit too heavy to hold all the time and the browser (which they tout highly for its unprecedented speed) is painfully slow. On top of that, it lacks most of my favorite apps, and doesn’t really do much that my laptop or phone won’t. (It’s good for accessing ComiXology away from the laptop, which is very nice, but not enough for $199, even with the exclusive deal for DC graphic novels on the Fire.)
I wouldn’t part with my reflective screen 2nd gen Kindle for love nor money, however.
Those are both good suggestions! Unfortunately, Friday Night Lights isn’t available for free with Prime, but I might pay to watch it anyway. Thanks for reminding me of it.
I got Amazon Prime several months ago and have yet to watch a movie with it. I got it because of the free shipping, which has already paid for itself a couple times over.
