I find myself focusing more on the fact it’s hidden than the fact that’s it’s a small concrete box. The hiddenness suggests that it really should be put to, shall we say, creative use. Which is of course to say illegal, though if you could arrange for it to contain buried treasure or something that could be good too.
There was a room like this in one of the embassies downtown in the early 70’s. I want to say Iran? My google-fu cannot confirm. Anyway, our school class went on a tour and they piled us all in there. There was a round red velvet sofa in this ten-or-so-sided room, anda light with a dimmer switch that they slowly brought down to just a tiny point of light in the middle of it all. Really cool sensation.
Only they didn’t have huge panels, it was more like mosaic tiles. they were just everywhere in different sizes and shapes. It was not a matter of seeing yourself a million times but of seeing light bounce until the nature of it seemed to gain a dimension in your mind.
Imagine sitting inside brilliant cut diamond. Like this, but more so.
