Did Jack Paar guest host sometimes after Carson took over? Or did McMahon guest on Paar’s early 70’s show? Or is that not even Jack Paar? (I think it is but am not sure, due to the quality of the video, difficulty of finding images at a similar age, general unfamiliarity with him, and a touch of what I like to think of a minor form of prospopagnosia…)

Or what?

That’s McLean Stevenson (Col. Blake from MAS*H) and that IS the Tonight Show.

It’s definitely Stevenson. One cite says MacLean Stevenson guest hosted the Tonight Show 58 times.
