Alot of these shows you all mention don’t really generate enough discussion for a thread. There’s not much to a 30-minute comedy, for instance. The prime targets are one-hour shows with continuing storylines, since they have the most people who want/need to discuss/clarify the events taking place and their fit into the story. Notice that popular threads are on ER, Buffy, all the HBO Sunday shows, they all sort of fit that category.
Of course, you could always just launch a thread on your favorite show. Maybe you’ll be surprised.
Nobody’s stopping you DR. I used to watch that one when it was replayed on the local channel Thursday nights, but I didn’t even know it was still on. Maybe it has less fans because it’s in an obscure time/channel now.
Oblivious on “The National Network”. Granted, there’s not much to say about it, seeing as how it’s a game show, but I watch it regularly and it never gets a thread.
Doghouse. Start the Stargate thread. I got hooked on it this last season. I’d like to learn more about it. And Richard Dean Anderson is always dreamy.
I don’t watch that many shows anymore, other than “24”. “Stargate”, “Farscape” and sometimes “Dead Zone”, because it comes on before the other two. (And yes, I have not reconciled myself with the reality that “Farscape” has been cancelled.)
I am fond of old shows, especially Westerns. (I got hooked on old '50s and '60s re-runs when I was a kid.) Wagon Train, Maverick, The Virginian…start a thread about these shows, and I’m so there.
Over at the Cliffy household we never miss “Life With Bonnie.” It’s so hit or miss during the “family” segments, but the interview segs are so damn funny (especially when Jonathan Winters was on) that it regularly brings me to tears. Even the less funny family bits are starting to get kind of a comfortable feel to them; even when they’re not funny, it’s pleasant to watch this adorable little family go about their adorable little lives.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see on for Raymond, but I doubt they’ll be any for Girlfriends besides the one I started (actually about the viewing habits of blacks and whites which mentioned GF) that died a rapid death.
I have to confess that I’m probably the only human being who is addicted to Law & Order: SVU. I’ve yet to meet someone else who watches it religiously.
booklover: I watch SVU all the time. (I love all the Law & Order shows.)
American Dreams is the one I thought of first, also Ed. Both are uncomplicated shows that let me turn off for an hour. That’s probably why they don’t get much discussion either.
