Whew, by “like this one,” did you mean “poorly optimized and unreasonably large?” :smiley:

I skipped through it a bit, but unless I missed something special, that presentation was made without any special software, apart from Macromedia Flash MX.

Maybe an appy for editing digital snaps, but apart from that… Not much.

My bad, I didn’t explain enough. :smack:

What I’d like to do is just take bunch of pictures and simply select an effect, put a background music, then create an animation.
Basically I’d like to recreate the flash animation shown on the site with different pictures.
The reason I am asking this is that one of my good friend is going back to his country to join the army, so I want to give him a cool digital photo album.
Optimization and size won’t be a problem as I will give it to him on an USB-drive or a CD.
I don’t have much time left to create an album, so I’m hoping Flash MX or Swish comes with a template exactly like that one, or at least easy enough to learn in a short period of time.

Any ideas?

I don’t know about a template, but SWiSH is really easy to learn, in my experience. Within an hour after installing it for the first time, I was able to put together my very first Flash movie using my own photos and some very cool effects. There are also loads of tutorial sites out there, which walk you through almost any effect you can think of, as well as lots of other tips and tricks. So, I second Lib’s recommendation.

I’ve downloaded both SWiSH and Flash MX. (Gotta love fully functional trial versions! :D)
SWiSH is so easy to learn, I could create my first animation without any hassle.
Maybe I’ll try MX later when I need to do more advanced stuff.
