What song was #1 the day you were born?

Am I the only poster so far to have this happen to them?

I entered my birthdate and clicked on the US flag, and was to to enter a valid date, because the US charts started 1/1/55. So that means my birthday is(cough) before that. The funniest part, and this is absolutely trues that my birthdate is 12/31/54. So I figured that the two dates would have the same #1 song, and it’s something I never heard of “Let Me Go Lover” by someone named Joan Weber. God, I geel so old.

Let’s see… in both the US and UK it was “something stupid” by Frank and Nancy Sinatra. Oh wait, that was my ex. Grrrr. Now when was my bday again?

ugh. . .June 10, '86. . . Madonna in the US. Spirit in the Sky in UK.

the U.S. No.1 on the 2nd January 1983 was Maneater by

the U.K. No.1 on the 2nd January 1983 was Save Your Love by

Scott, no way! Those are the coolest yet, by far. I’m jealous. My American one was Sugar Shack.

My 18th birthday(lifesong) is “Un-break My Heart” by Toni Braxton(US.) My songs aren’t that bad, considering that if I had been born a month later I would have born about the same time as Wolverine. “Le Freak” and “Y.M.C.A.” Shudder

Wonder which one I’ll be singing for the rest of the day…

Yesterday

Always considered this one of my favourite Beatles tunes.

Cool

Mine was Lady by Kenny Rogers.

I’m pretty sure I’ve never even heard of that song.

June 11, 1969:

Beatles, The Ballad of John and Yoko (UK)
Beatles, Get Back (US)

I cannot believe y’all are willing to give out your email addresses & your birthdates to these people. I smell a rat. A big fat rat carved out of spam, despite their weak claim that they won’t sell your address.

A hard-copy?! That’s a good trick- must be new technology. And what’s the point of having a check-box so you can submit your email address and birthdate without sending the song title, if that’s all it’s for?

Anyway, curiousity led me to look up the number one song for my birthday elsewhere on the web:

Smokey Robinson & the Miracles – Tears of a Clown, according to Billboard.

Bummer.

on 4th Novemeber '85

US - ‘Part-time Lover’ by Stevie Wonder.
UK - ‘The Power Of Love’ by Jennifer Rush.

wow… I have never heard either of these songs

OK, I just posted in Lobsangs “Signs you’re getting old” thread. Now I need to post there again!

It’s hard to believe there are grown-ups alive who’ve never heard of “Part-time Lover” or Kim Carnes. Not your fault, kids… I must be getting old indeed.

I think… I’m going… to be… sick…

US: Shadow Dancing by Andy Gibb

UK : You’re The One That I Want by John Travolta And Olivia Newton-John
June of 1978 was a dark time for popular music.

Mine was Diana Ross’s Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.

My wife’s was Happy Together by the Turtles

I don’t know which is worse: the UK #1 was “Take a Chance on Me” by Abba, and the US #1 was “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees. I don’t know how anyone survived the 70’s.
