Am I the only poster so far to have this happen to them?
I entered my birthdate and clicked on the US flag, and was to to enter a valid date, because the US charts started 1/1/55. So that means my birthday is(cough) before that. The funniest part, and this is absolutely trues that my birthdate is 12/31/54. So I figured that the two dates would have the same #1 song, and it’s something I never heard of “Let Me Go Lover” by someone named Joan Weber. God, I geel so old.
My 18th birthday(lifesong) is “Un-break My Heart” by Toni Braxton(US.) My songs aren’t that bad, considering that if I had been born a month later I would have born about the same time as Wolverine. “Le Freak” and “Y.M.C.A.” Shudder
I cannot believe y’all are willing to give out your email addresses & your birthdates to these people. I smell a rat. A big fat rat carved out of spam, despite their weak claim that they won’t sell your address.
A hard-copy?! That’s a good trick- must be new technology. And what’s the point of having a check-box so you can submit your email address and birthdate without sending the song title, if that’s all it’s for?
Anyway, curiousity led me to look up the number one song for my birthday elsewhere on the web:
Smokey Robinson & the Miracles – Tears of a Clown, according to Billboard.
OK, I just posted in Lobsangs “Signs you’re getting old” thread. Now I need to post there again!
It’s hard to believe there are grown-ups alive who’ve never heard of “Part-time Lover” or Kim Carnes. Not your fault, kids… I must be getting old indeed.
I don’t know which is worse: the UK #1 was “Take a Chance on Me” by Abba, and the US #1 was “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees. I don’t know how anyone survived the 70’s.
