What songs hypnotize you?

This tune has now been permanently fused to my poor brain. I’m gonna miss sleep.

Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata” entrances me, as does Mercy Me’s “I Can Only Imagine.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S70gwFcSK9k I love this song.

Love, Phil

Bumped because I found a song that fits the OP, but mostly because of the name of the band:

Krokodil doing a song called Lady of Attraction from the album called an invisible world revealed.

Very psychedelic. I’ve wondered for a while if the poster named Krokodil is aware that a German prog-rock band is named after him/her.

What was that (sort of) popular song in the mid-90’s that incorporated Gregorian chanting? That one.

I’d be much obliged if someone would tell me the name…

Was it Return to Innocence?

Yeah, it was probably Enigma.

As already mentioned, several by Enigma and Floyd’s Comfortably Numb.

Several by Depeche Mode but especially Clean.

Several songs from Cure’s Disintegration album. (Same Deep Water, Pictures of You, Last Dance, Lullaby, Fascination Street.)

Prince’s Sometimes It Snows In April.

Ben E. King’s Stand By Me…within three notes.

Tori Amos’s Little Earthquakes.

Thanks Stauderhorse - actually it was Sadeness by Enigma. But I couldn’t remember the name of the group until you posted!

“Comfortably Numb” by Pink Floyd

“Veni, Veni Emmanuel” by Mannheim Steamroller

The “Cosmos” theme from Vangelis’ Heaven & Hell album. Some dude on iTunes gives instructions for isolating this segment of the album.

“It Doesn’t Matter” by Allison Kraus

Birthday by the Sugarcubes. If I heard Bjork sing that live I would probably faint, literally.

Several songs by The Warlocks (neo-pyschedelia with a bit of a Cure hook now and then). They don’t hypnotize me at home but rather in concert, where I can feel melting into the music and atmosphere that I don’t with punk concerts.

Definitely Maranatha (Come Lord) by Lisa Gerrard and Patrick Cassidy. I just put that track on repeat.

Robert Miles’ Children

I just listened to this today. DJ mixes can be good for this. I’ll throw out Sasha’s “Involver”.
