What sort of growth condition might this girl have had?

Alright, I’ll try to describe her as best as I can.
BTW, she wasn’t hideous or anything, just the opposite in fact, or just different.
I noticed this young lady at the waterpark yesterday and at first glance nothing stood out, except for her height, and apparent age, or at least the age she acted.
She was a white female, about 4’5" tall, but perfectly proportioned. That means if you had no reference of her height you would say she looked normal.
She was wearing a tight string bikini, usually reserved for the older gals in the crowd, not the typical attire of most of the teenagers/young girls in the park. She was with her family, mom, dad, brother and sister (I’m assuming they were related) all of whom seemed perfectly normal and proportioned.
She acted like a little kid, maybe about the age of a 10 year old. Her voice was high pitched and mousy, and she acted extremely immature. Very demanding and sort of spoiled.
Here’s the kicker. Her body was proportioned of that of a 25 year old woman. Large developed chest for her body size, perfect stomach muscle tone. Thighs, hips, arms, neck and face all seemed to point to someone that was very much older and more mature than her height and character/personality would have indicated.
She certainly did not have the typical pre-pubescent, or early-late teen presence about her which made it confusing for me to figure her out.
Her body went one way but the way she acted was just the opposite.
Is there some sort of medical condition she may have had that causes the body to develop faster than normal or some sort of other condition (mental?) that would prevent her mind from growing with her body?
Usually when you see someone with a genetic mental disorder or something along those lines they don’t appear perfect on the outside, that’s why I’m asking these questions. Mostly just curious is all.

A celebrity midget? Ok before I am spanked, make that a spoiled proportionate dwarf?

Did she have a bracelet that said, “Mr. F”?

Pardon?

An Arrested Development reference; Charlize Theron’s character was mentally retarded, and wore a bracelet with the letters M.R.F. for Mentally Retarded Female.

If it weren’t for the voice thing, I’d simply guess precocious puberty . But I suppose it’s possible that she has a funny voice unrelated to also having precocious puberty. It may not all be related in one syndrome.

Ah, that may be exactly what she had. Even the part about the growth spurt stopping early sounds right. The voice thing may just be a result of her body doing things that aren’t normal for a person her age.

She was?

I only saw the first one or two episodes with that character.

-FrL-

If you recall from those episodes you learn that she was in the Olympics. One of my favorite lines in the series is much later on after they learn of her condition Michael Bluth says something like, “Well she was still in the… I can’t believe I just got that now.”

Precocious puberty is unlikely unless her parents were so mentally deficient they let her dress inappropriately for her chronologic age–a highly retarded decision indeed.

It’s more likely that her chronologic and phenotypic ages match, and that her dress is an effort to reflect that. It is also the case that a high squeaky voice might further the impression that her other actions were childish. I doubt she is mentally handicapped in any way. If she were it would be abusive to have her dress suggestively.

If her only problem is that she has proportionate dwarfism then the parents may have compensated for this issue by giving her more leeway in dress and behaviour than would otherwise be appropriate–i.e. they have spoiled her.

Those loose, stringless bikinis sold so poorly that the manufacturers quickly stopped making them.

Question for the person who mentioned it upthread (sorry, I’m on a reply page and can’t scroll to it):

Would precocious adolsescence mean she races through life faster and would always look older than her chronological age?

She could have been more like 12-14, but acted a bit more childish than you would expect. And her height could have been restricted if she was on hormone therapy for other conditions. This could lead to proportional development with very short height, but she could develop quite normally in other areas and/or even in an accelerated way, depending on which hormones, when they were taken, the doses, the condition, the age at which it started.

I know a girl who is 4’8" tall, built like a brick shithouse and weighs about 85 lbs. She is 35 and developed fairly early. Heck, girls are ‘developing’ as early as 8 or 9. If a girl destined by genetics to be very short/tiny (4’ 8" and 80 lbs as an adult) and develops sexually very early, I’d imagine that to be 4’5" and 9-11 years old would be ‘normal’ for her – No medical conditiona at all. Just someone in that 1% group.

Well, I got my first period at 9 and had practically all the boobs I have now (32C) in the 5th grade (age 10), and most people say I look extremely young for my age.

I don’t have any pituitary disorder though. I just got smacked with the puberty stick pretty young. I’m on the shortish side (5’2") but certainly not notably tiny.

How old were her parents? Did they seem like the ages of parents who would have a 25 year old daughter?

You should have gotten her number.

Good point, it was hard to tell. They seemed like they could be in their mid-fourties or so.
As far as getting her number, that would have been a very delicate situation as my wife and three children were very close by.
