What subjective opinion are you most unshakably certain of?

Until it’s performed, it’s just a bunch of black dots on the page.

Well, if you want to fake it with the WTS, then use the following algorithm: name a key followed by the word “prelude” and/or “fugue”. (But make sure you say “prelude” first if you’re going to say both.)

I’m cool with most of this ;). I’m a Max Roach guy, but will listen to Morello. Ellington is the man, and Monk is the magician. And Wayne Shorter can swing a soprano, but not many others.

Oh, and Grant Green is better than Wes Montgomery. Yeah, I said it. (I love Wes, but think GG has a singular voice as a soloist)…

Forest Gump was a shit movie, Dance with Wolves was boring but Waterworld is the worst movie ever.

Tom Cruise hasn’t made a good movie since Days of Thunder (and that was crap)

Mad Max (Road Warrior to you yanks) is the best movie ever.

OHHHHH!!! Of COURSE!!!

You can’t be a True Irishman.

But Guinness is not beer it is in it’s own universe.

Joe Montana is the best quarterback who over played the game.

Steak should only be cooked rare.

To this Yank, Mad Max and The Road Warrior have always been two distinctly different movies.

But Casablanca is the best movie ever.

Until you compare it to what will pass for music in 2113. Yeah, these are the good old days.

The reason they play bagpipes at funerals is to keep the departed six feet under, where he can’t hear it.

Marshall McLuhan was right; the medium is the message. More than he ever could have dreamed.

Beer tastes like vomit.

Star Trek: Insurrection is by far the worst Star Trek film.

I’m not dissing Beck; he’s a great guitarist. And, sure, it’s no surprise he would be cited as an influence, along with Hendrix and Page. I’m certain that Van Halen, Lifeson and May are influences, too, a little farther down the road.

Hey, this thread is about unshakable opinions. I wasn’t trying to change your mind. I just hold a different opinion.

So then Motorhead’s version of Louie Louie is the greatest rock song ever? And Overkill, Killed by Death, Stay Clean are much, much better songs then Ace of Spades.

“Imagine” is the most vapid piece of pap that has ever been put to music and published.

Tropicana is the only brand of orange juice that is ever worth drinking.

It’s weird when The Dope reads minds, but I swear just last night I was wondering if I should ever get around to watching it, as it is the last bit of TNG that I have yet to see. I was going to post about it, but here you have gone and answered my question for me

…but…but…but…your opinion is wrong!!!

(yeah, I have no idea why I needed to get all facty and influencey about that - I think my commitment to the Unshakeable Law of Jeff Beck pushes me to silliness at times ;))

What’s funny is that I don’t like a lot of Beck’s music - as far as I can tell, he likes to experiment and try different blends of rock, blues, jazz, rockabilly, etc. and many hit, but almost as many miss. But to paraphrase what they say about actors with great voices, Jeff Beck could play the phone book and win me over with his technique)

Sorry for the hijack - please carry on…

You know, that’s my problem with Beck. I just don’t like a lot of his music. The songs are just not very good, in many cases. He’s a MUCH better guitarist than a songwriter or singer.

That reminds me: smoked beers are for people who have been rendered crimnally insane by an extreme sports mishap.
