Add Tigra, then make a West Coast Avengers movie. Hawkeye, Rhodey, and Mockingbird already exist in the universe all that’s needed is Tigra and Wonder Man.
I think a better question is, what challenge is there in putting She-Hulk on the screen that wasn’t already solved by Lord of the Rings? If they can make Ian McKellan look twice the height of Elijah Wood, they can make Jane Lynch two feet taller than Chris Hemsworth.
Well, the look depends on who’s drawing her. At the very least, she was always ridiculously fit. Of course, what works on a comic page doesn’t get copied line-for-line into the movies, and the current Marvel movies have done a fantastic job of making things real (once you accept the basic premise) with a nod toward years of tradition. She-Hulk needs to be exceptionally strong (and look it), imposing in stature (without being a monster), oversize in personality, flirtatious and frivolous (until shit starts getting real). I think it would be tougher to do right than anything they’ve done so far.
That said, they’ve been excellent at preserving the core of their characters while translating them to live-action. Maybe they could pull this off, too.
I am mildly allergic to cats and I certainly don’t consider myself a furry or anything along those lines but Tigra is a babe. She makes me feel kinda funny, like when we used to climb the rope in gym class.
There is only possible answer: the winsome Wasp.
Obviously I’m all for Tigra, but I’m not sure the CGI is ready for that.
The world needs more movies with Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique.
Off topic, but ouch those spoilers in the OP. I wish I could unread it.
What spoilers? The OPA mentions the death from a couple of decade-old TV shows, but nothing for on the Avengers movie, unless you count the mention of Scarlet Witch. I didn’t even discuss the live scene between Cap and Tony.
Carol as Captain Marvel.
Or Monica! That’d work pretty well, as she’s not a “junior distaff counterpart.” I guess she’d be “Spectrum” as that’s her current name in the comics.
It’s funny. As much as Jan, Shulkie, Wanda, and Monica were mainstays of the team, there are a lot more male characters who’ve been Avengers. The boys rotated in and out.
Skald, a few questions:
-
When you mention SMALLVILLE in such disparaging tones, do you not recall that the excellent John Glover was on that show, and indeed was one of the few bright spots?
-
No selection for Monica Rambeau?
-
What about Gwendolyn Christie as She-Hulk? She can act and she’s tall enough to play a gamma-powered gal.
Oh! Patsy Walker, in long trousers! Yeah! That could be fun.
The scrawny version of Steve Rogers was a composite of Chris Evans’s head and a much smaller actor’s body.
I lean toward finding an actress who’s close enough to 6’7" to get away with it and painting her green.
Gwendoline Christie is a babe, but I think Shulkie should be Californian.
Carol Danvers, as Captain Marvel, played by Katee Sackhoff. Why is this even a question?
If Gina Carano could act, I’d nominate her, just so at least the fights would be fun.
Bah! Here’s the best Valkyrie: No pants, but her elbows are so well protected! (safe for work).
That is a beautiful picture. The clothing/“armor” is gorgeous, too.
I vote for Empowered. She’s all over the skimpy costume part and she’s got a personality. What’s not to like? OK, she’s not Marvel or DC … I guess she’s just a dark horse …
(Ducks behind grapefruit shield.)
Kinda sorta maybe safe for work so I’ll put the link in spoilers just to be safe for the Dope:
Yeah, that artist does some nice work.
