In all honesty, my friend, I’m not sure you quite understand just who IS the subject of the title of this OP. You’ve assumed that it is you and, I reckon, the other mods and admins at … your board. But that’s not (necessarily) the case.
The “you people” that I’m addressing here are whoever thinks that homosexuality is automatically taboo as a topic while murder and treason are not.
I don’t care what the reason is. If there’s some search engine that says it won’t link, then to hell with its links. If there’s someone quoting scripture, so what? The devil does that.
Some people at your board understand the complaint. Some don’t. Some who understand are mods. Some aren’t.
I told you that if you oppose the kind of bigotry that I’m opposing here in this thread, then stand with me. Otherwise, at least declare where you do stand. While you’re in your snit and wishing me unpeace, I’d appreciate it if you’d explain what’s wrong with the principle I’m standing on.
I didn’t come here to try to make you act faster. I didn’t come here to try to get support. I came here to vent. I came here to vent because some people at your board, in their boundless intolerance and blindness, pissed me off, and you won’t let me vent there.

I think you’re being a little overly sensitive with cuauhtemoc, Libertarian. I’ll break the stalemate myself. I’ve deleted my bookmarks to the site, but go to Google and search for the Pizza Parlor message board. The long and short of it is that the board has a section, called the Beverage Bar, that you must request access to reach and must at least tell them you’re 18 to be approved. Threads with “mature” content are supposed to be within that area.
Threads dealing with homosexuality nearly always are posted or are moved to the Beverage Bar. Yet, as Lib has pointed out, other threads which have much more offensive and “mature” topics remain in the generally accessible area.
Well, you know me, my friend. If a man said, “In the name of your whore mother, damn her, give me a link,” I would hesitate. I love God certainly at least as much as I love her.
Funny thing is, of course, that my moral journey is all about learning to love people who curse both my mother and my God. Thus, friends like you are invaluable to me. You (and Xeno) always remind me to get back on track. Thanks.
I’ve always parsed “God Damned” or “God Dammit” or “Goddamn” as being a descriptor of the thing, the “it” if you will, being damned as so damned that God himself (or itself or herself, whatever you please) has damned it.

Libertarian, Homebrew’s reading of “goddamn” and its homonyms is actually the only way I had ever conceived that phrase could be read. Likewise with your proposed reading of “for Christ’s sake”. Sorry for the tone. I just figured that, with over 2,000 views (at the time) I couldn’t be the only one rolling my eyes in exasperation at the offhandedness and in-joke-ism of this peculiar thread. I’m sure you didn’t want folks to feel left out.
Okay, speaking as an Administrator over there but not in behalf of that board, simply on my own concerns, I found Lib’s point to be quite telling, and the active staff of that board is seriously reviewing our policy, with an eye to addressing Lib’s concerns.
For what it’s worth, as I did explain to Lib over there, the idea that other boards link to that board, and that children are explicitly welcome there, means that, at the request of people who do those links, anything dealing explicitly with sexuality is removed from “open board” into a forum where “mature members” can participate – which simply means that you need to affirm you’re over 18 to be granted “mature member” status and get in.
I had strong reservations about Lib’s decision to vent here, have not complained, but do feel caught in the middle, since his thread here has caused some antagonism between people on the two boards.
Actually, Poly, I’d say the antagonism was already there. Just because it wasn’t expressed doesn’t mean it wasn’t felt. My antagonism toward certain posters over there necessitated my taking read-only status.
And as I’ve said repeatedly, especially there, I have no problem with the isolation of “mature” content. My problem is with the fact that anything and everything having the remotest connection to “the love that dare not speak its name” is considered mature content, while slanderous mud slinging at liberals, murder of and by children, and reckless bashing of Islam is not.
