What the !@##$ happened to the Golden Eagles?

I haven’t watched any hoops action yet today. However, a few minutes ago, I went to www.ncaasports.com to check out the scores and Marquette was down 82-41.

What the hell happened to the Golden Eagles? It doesn’t surprise me that Kansas can beat Marquette, but jeez Louise, this is one of the worst ass-whippings in Final Four history.

OTOH, my old man will be glad. He’s a Kentucy fan. Today the Wildcat faithful gain a bit of revenge via the Jayhawks.

It’s been one hell of a tournament.

I see the final score is Kansas: 94, Marquette: 61.

Incredible.

Yea, that was pathetic.

I gave up on that game at halftime.

Marquette simply couldn’t hit the basket, and Kansas seemed to sink every single shot it made. That imbalance of play was truly disappointing, and a bore to watch.

No, UNLV beating Duke 103-73 in the 1990 championship game was pathetic.

I just don’t think Marquette was that good. Missouri shot like four for thirty or something on threes when Marquette beat’em and Diener and Wade played off their rockers the whole tournament. They weren’t making shots and Kansas was just too much for them. Honestly, watching the Pitt and UK games, I thought Marquette was an inferior team being carried by a great player in Wade, and his magic just ran out. Speaking of magic, Carmelo Anthony can freakin play.

I lasted into the 2nd half, but not much farther. KU ws too quick, even ater MU was set on D, they’d drive and get a layup, crazy fast.

Wade never got into the game and the outside shooters weren’t hitting. As Al would say, the ‘aircraft carriers’ were the only ones keeping it from getting too embarrassing. Should be a good game on monday though.

When did Marquette stop being the Warriors? They were the Warriors, weren’t they, at some point?

Yeah, it was a few years ago, someone decided that the name “Warriors” wasn’t PC enough, so they looked at a bunch of options, polled the state, and picked the crappiest name suggested.

Well, I listened to the Syracuse-Texas game on the radio while driving home, and it was a much better game.
As an Indiana fan, I was very glad to hear Jim Benheim say he still can’t forget The Shot.
I intend to find a TV Monday night and watch the final. I think it should be a pretty good game.
