What the heck is "post office"?

When I was younger and used to read alot of “Archie” comics (I loved Archie comics:) ) Archie and the gang would play some sort of make-out game called “Post Office”. No one ever played this when I went to high school. Any Dopers ever play this? How does it go? What are the rules?

P.S. Anyone have the issue where Archie, Betty, and Veronica have a threesome?

isn’t post office the game where a person draws a name from a hat, and then those two go into a closet to make out for five minutes?

Yes, but the pages are stuck together.

I believe that the period is *two[/] minutes and the game is titled (appropriately), “Two Minutes in the Closet.”

As far as how one plays “Post Office,” I am at a loss.

OK, I spoke too soon. A little googling turned up:

The Postman Knocks
This requires a group of boys and girls as well as two decks of cards. The boys are each given one card from deck 1 and the girls are each given one card from deck 2. Form two lines parallel to each other, one with all the boys and the other with all the girls, make sure both lines are facing each other. The boys and girls then take turns calling out a number from “Ace” to “King”. When a boy calls a number the girl in the opposite line who has that number steps out and he walks over and kisses her. When the girl calls a number the boy with that card steps out to be kissed.

Post Office - a classic kissing game for large groups.

How to play:

First, divide the group into boys and girls. The first group (boys or girls) goes into another room (the post office). To play, each person from the second group takes a turn in the ‘post office’… which basically means they go in the other room and get a kiss from each of the members of that group.

Once everyone has taken their turn in the post office, switch the groups so that everyone has a chance for another kiss!

Option 1: Pony Express

This variation is basically the same as original Post Office, except the ‘Post Office’ is a closet or some other dark room. The game is played the same, but with a little more ‘horsing around!’

You sure can learn a lot online! Head over to that first site and check out the game “Suck and Blow.”

For someone who’s seen “Clueless” more times than should be legally allowed, I already knew of that game.

As for the OP: I used to play post office! We also added the game to our list of “legal dares” in the game “Turth or Dare”. Oh, so you choose dare? Well, I dare you to take so and so into the post office! Oh, to be young!

“Oh, to be young?” I STILL play truth or dare, and I’m 30. And I think “post office” sounds like a heck of a lot of fun. Assuming, of course, that all parties involved are consenting adults and each has consumed his or her mandatory amount of tequila.

Oh, to be young, exclaimation point! It’s great to be young! You’re 30? What, like that’s old or something? Play truth or dare! And post office IS a damn fun game!

Boy. I REALLY like the way you think ! My home phone number is…
