Keep one thing in mind as you try to decide what this cat is. Someone with just a passing familiarity with Homo sapiens might not recognize him, him, or him as representative of the species. Just saying.

Having finally gotten a chance to see the pictures (I wasn’t going to risk it at work!), I see that someone’s already brought the links to the fishing cat. The flat (almost reptilian) head and small ears definitely tag it.

Also, the way it says “Fishing Cat” in Russian (at the top, right under the line that says, in English, “Quote”).
Needless to say I did not notice this until after I had made some lengthy and basically wrong conjectures about the meaning of the Russian word “Kotik” and looked through pages and pages of pictures of the smaller wild cats to make a positive ID.
Some days its amazing how wrong you can be but still be right.

That is one cute wild pussa! My friend has a Maine Coon cat and I thought that was the biggest housecat I’d ever see…boy was I wrong.

I am all cool with having your gigantic cat fish in your bathtub and butcher chickens on your shiny floors. Then the next photo is the cat climbing on their dinner table and their food. Ugh!
