I was hoping that Yue Han would be able to join Drain Bead and myself on the ride to SPIFFLED. Alas, his parents decided that giving their child over to Satan for a weekend was not prudent. However, we will be driving by there at around dinner time, and we really like Yue Han, so we made dinner plans.
Then we thought, well shit, let’s just see who else wants to come out and break bread?

In response to your exact question, Satan, one thing to be found in sunny Muncie, IN is the Ball State University bookstore. Up to at least a few years ago they sold a great t-shirt. It just has the word “Ball” inset into a huge “U”.
I used to work at Greek’s Pizzeria! It’s actually very good pizza.
Muncie, Indiana is located just east of Interstate 69 about an hour north of Indianapolis and is the home of Ball State University. Hence the following popular on-campus graffiti:
“Do I have to go 69 to get to Ball U?”
I’ll be there considering I live 3 minutes away from Greek’s. You can’t call it Greek’s Pizzeria when you come down you have to sound local call it Greek’s and you’ll do fine For real though I was thinking about coming to Spiffled but that is a 7hr car drive and being a broke college student makes it rough. Anyways I will be there.
The only nice thing about the weather in Muncie is, it’s not the weather in Elkhart. (Which is where I am now, haha)
Wait, that sounds wrong. That sounds like I like Elkhart weather. Here in Elkhart we have the glory that is Lake Effect. Blizzards in the winter, thunderstorms in the spring, tornados in the summer, and all three in the fall.
Whereas Muncie is merely completely unpredictable. Go to sleep after a balmy springish day, wake up to an inch of snow on the ground.

I will actually be staying at a hotel near where SanibelMan’s Aunt lives so as to easier pick him up. The hotel is in Troy, IL. Lunch on Saturday, April 7 around there would be cool if it can be around there… Any chance on you and some other Dopers making it out? I can even give someone a ride to SPIFFLED and they can split a room with SanibelMan, since I have one extra seat in the car.
Let me know, or start a thread about it or something…

I have an extra seat in the car to get to SPIFFLED. You are welcome to tag along, no problem. The only expenses you’d have to pay will be the room at the hotel I am staying at near SanibelMan’s aunt (my room was only $40) and food costs. I am picking up the room in Springfield for SanibelMan, so you and he can split it at no cost to you.
Hey Satan sounds like a possibility. Pending what day it is (I forgot and I am too lazy to look at the moment). Sounds like I could cover the expenses easily I just got my new credit card and I’m itching to make myself go into debt. So once I see what day it is and if I can get it off of work I’ll get back to you.

Been back a few times since. My old apartment on Cole St. was still there but the old watering hole had been torn down. (Not suprising; it was a dive. You could get ebola from the life forms breeding in the floor spillage.) Enthusiatic endorsement for Greek’s pizza, though.
