What the hell is this song?

I was vacationing on St. Martin a couple of months back. I had come back from dinner and was pleasantly sated and feeling no pain. I lied down and turned on the radio. Some time later, I heard, through my preconscious haze, a song by a female vocalist, in a moderate, seductive R&B groove, singing a lyric which rhythmically went something like this (for those of you who understand music, I’ve put the notes of the melody I remember atop the lyric)
C D Eb F G
“dum dum dum dum dum…
G F-Eb G F-Eb
I’m sorry, I’m sorry (or I’m lying, I’m lying)
C D Eb F G
dum dum dum dum dum …
G F-Eb G F-Eb
I’m sorry, I’m sorry” (or I’m lying, I’m lying)

I subsequently wrote the radio station and they sent me their playlist for that evening but none of the songs (which I tracked down) was the one I heard.
 Can anyone help????

WAG until I find something more concrete: Is it “I’m Sorry” by Brenda Lee?

Wait—I read more closely and deduced that you probably didn’t mean “blues-type groove” when you said “R&B groove”. Also, the notes don’t match.

Sorry.

No, it’s definitely NOT Brenda Lee. Yes, I meant rhythm and blues. The notes were assigned correctly when I wrote the thread but they didn’t translate when posted. I’ll try again and space them wider ( this it the hook of the song as I remember it)

 C D Eb F G

dum dum dum dum dum

 G F Eb G F Eb

I’m ly- ing, I’m ly- ing

(or I’m sorry, I;m sorry)

For you muscians out there, the tempo was approximately at MM 120 (in 4/4 time).

Actually (sorry to hijack), I meant that the notes don’t match Brenda Lee’s melody; I meant not to imply any fault on your part.

Hope you find the title quick.

Tyrese “I’m sorry” ?
