Whenever my aunt gets her photo taken she sticks her chin straight up so that it won’t look like she has a double chin. Maybe LB’s doing the same thing.

Seriously, why didn’t anyone tell her that posing like that while cameras were around was a very bad move? Aren’t there people that make sure First Ladies don’t end up looking like crazed ferrets in the international newsmedia?
I’m wondering (giving her the benefit of the doubt) if the photographers she was actually posing for were on a balcony above them or something. I can’t imagine any other reason this supposedly normally-socialized person would mug like the class clown during senior pictures…
But then she would be looking the same direction her head is pointing, and everyone else would be looking up as well.
To give LB the benefit of the doubt, for the moment, we don’t exactly know the context in which those photos were taken. Having been within a few feet of Pres. Reagan at a photo op, I can say that the moment he appeared the photographers cameras all started whirring and stayed whirring until they ran out of film (thanks to autowinders) and then the photographers all switched to another camera, and so on until they ran out of cameras or Reagan left. I imagine that with the advent of high quality digital cameras things are much the same, except that now, it’s easier for shots of the half-second where the person looked like a goofball to get out in public. Someone may have just asked LB a silly question and as part of her response she made that face.
Or, the bitch could be a total whack job. I don’t know. Still, that’s the kind of photograph which gives folks nightmares.
Although I agree with Tuckerfan that there are probably a handful of great, plausible reasons for that pose (maybe she was about to sneeze? Maybe she hiccupped?) I still sat here and laughed until tears ran down my cheeks.

It boggles my mind …worse yet, shakes the very pillars of my tenable reality… to accept these pictures as truth. Are these verifiable?
