This program opens pdf files automatically on my new Windows 7 system but I can’t print any of these files, I can only view. Somewhere on my system I saw that the program was made by Microsoft, but I cannot find any information on this anywhere online, which I find very unusual. I’ve typed in search terms with the program named exactly as it is on my system, with quotes, without quotes, and there’s no information whatsoever. All I get is companies hawking their free pdf software, but none of them look like the program on my system. The program opens in a teal green window and doesn’t even have an “about” button. Did my computer get infected by a weird new virus? My ultimate goal is to try to print pdf files.
Was it pre-installed on your computer when you bought it?
In any case, if it does not meet your needs, I suggest you uninstall it, and get one of the many other free PDF reading programs that are out there (as you have discovered). I have tried several, and have never met one that will not let you print. I recommend PDFXChange-viewer (free version), which has a lot of useful features, but there are many alternatives.
I don’t know, it looks legit to me, and they include the uninstall directions right there on the webpage. If you didn’t install it, your computer might have it as part of their default image. It definitely doesn’t come from Microsoft, though.
Why would you need anytihng other than Adobe Reader?
It is slow, bloated, feature poor, and conduit for malware.
