What to do in a John Mayall concert?

Somehow my boss gave me two tickets for tonight’s John Mayall show.

Some historical stuff: His original band: John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers met his soulmate Eric Clapton in the late 60’s (Clapton had quit the Yardbirds in favor of playing the blues) This union culminated in the first hit album for the Bluesbreakers and resulted in worldwide attention. Eric Clapton has stated, “John Mayall has actually run an incredibly great school for musicians.”

Now the show is tonight (and I have no one to accompany me :frowning: ) but the thing that is curious is that the show is only for 21 and over. Why is that? Are his songs adult in nature or it is the show he puts?

By all means, go to the show, you will really enjoy it.
As far as 21 & over goes, that’s probably just because it is at a bar that serves alcohol, and has nothing to do with the content of the show.
I’ve enjoyed Mayall since the days with Clapton in the Bluesbreakers. I haven’t seen him live since '72 or so, but every few years I’ll hear one of his new albums and he still sounds as vital as ever.
Go and enjoy yourself.

Lucky you! Go and dig the tunes. Find someone to bring with you! He’s a great show.
