I agree April is a bit early for things to be going on in D.C.
however, if your just looking for a quiet getaway and maybe a little nature its not the worst time to go, the crowds of FIBS wont be there yet and hotel prices should be down a bit as its still the off season, but the leaves and flowers will be a bit behind.
if your looking for culture, wrong time of year I’m afraid.
It is a bit early in the year to be going up there if you want to truly experience the DC atmosphere. However, you can still go to the restaraunts, antique shops, the art galleries and the craft stores (millions of each). Candy shops, trail hiking, mountain biking, tower climbing and picture taking are just a few more of the things you’ll find you can do up there.
If you plan on staying in a certain town or at a certain hotel get reservations now. It always seems to be hit or miss unless you reserve in advance.
You’ll enjoy the time, there probably won’t be as many people as other times in the year so you’ll be able to get around easier and things might be cheaper.
thats pretty damn funny
