What unique thing(s) do you do for fun/to pass the time here?
Dig for old threads to read, make lists of posters with tons of posts, read all the posts by any specific person to see how their posts have changed over time, analyze post interactions within threads to try to figure out who is friends with who, randomly mention names in threads to play with vanity searches (for example, Jonathan Chance or someone else), add people to my buddy lists so I can track if they’re online or not, change my location, search for instances of the word polychromatic, read people’s web pages, and look at profiles.
Oh yes, sometimes I even read threads and post.
Checking out the very first threads in each forum.
And, uh, recently I’ve been reading a few of the moderators’ earlier posts on the board for precisely lel’s reasons above. I’ve covered Coldfire and manhattan.
Look at posts I remember as being particularly good.
Read Great Debates for a while. Then I get bored.
Read Cecil’s columns.
Read old, infamous trainwrecks.
Play with the cool 'What colour is your username" thing.
Little things please little minds.

I tried to think of a linkage between the “Golden Horde” and “Golden Hemorhoids” threads. I wasn’t clever enough. There are some things, perhaps, that man wasn’t meant to know.
This is probably bad, but if I’m looking at an old thread and see a poster has been banned I will search under their name and look in the threads to try and figure out what got them banned in the first place.
Sometimes a mod will have posted and said what the problem was but sometimes I can’t find out what happened. I assume maybe the person had too many usernames or maybe they had been banned previously and posted something under a new name…
Then I figure that the world of the Mods is not something I am supposed to understand so I let it go…

I mostly just wait and wait and wait for threads to finally open.
Then I try to post and I wait and wait and wait some more.
Then I curse when the page times out.
Then I repeat a couple more times.
Then, after killing two hours and successfully posting once or twice, I go to bed.

People, we’re here to fight ignorance. And it is taking far too long already. Even with the herculean efforts of Q.E.D., tons and tons of the stuff pour in every day. It’s taking all we’ve got to keep it at bay. And you’re talking about having fun? Get your lazy ***es over at GQ and GD and start Googling.
