What to do with my luggage?

I’m taking a trip to see my sister in a few weeks. There will be a 6-8 hour gap from when I get off the greyhound to when she gets off at work. I would have no problem wandering around the city alone for 6-8 hours, I think it would be fun.

The problem is that I will have my luggage with me, and it would be inconvenient and tiring to drag it around.

What are my options, is there anywhere I can lock up my stuff?

What city? If NYC, Philly, Chicago, etc., I would think the station would have a place where you could check your bags. If a smaller city, you might be SOL.

Yes it’s touch and go who has lockers these days, I think you just have to check ahead. Some museums have bag checks. You could find an upscale hotel, if they ask questions just tell them you’re there for the conference. Or you could ship a box of clothes to your sister’s ahead of time and just bring a backpack for your computer and such. If you have to pay $15 to check the bag anyhow …

A couple of times I have been in a similar situation, found a nice hotel and checked them with the bellman…

I wasnt asked what room I had been staying in, and made sure to give a couple of bucks as a tip when I picked up my bags later.

Hotels have a bag check room for this purpose, just make sure to get a claim check stub from the attendant.

The train station SHOULD have lockers, but check first.

Any decent hotel will store it for you, no questions asked.
