What to See and Do in Washington DC - an Informative MMP

Maybe in a couple years. ISSMP actually would be the most logical one for me. The concentrations require significant additional experience - two+ years in management, in this case. Presently, I’m just a worker bee.

And… Can we wait for the ink to dry on the first certificate? :stuck_out_tongue:

:: waves good-bye to the nerd mobile ::

You know a city must suck when the rest of its own country hates it too.

I hear you on corporate communications and consultants, Nava, hooo boy do I ever. I have to deal with both on a daily basis, and it tends to make me a little bit stabby as the week goes on. Surely this whole change in positions is scribbled in somewhere in the project plan complete with workback schedule… it’s just that someone made a mistake on the communications plan and so the entry that says “Talk to Nava about the change” is a few tasks after the one for “dispatch Nava’s replacement to her desk”.

Is it Firday yet?

Dotty, any way you can talk your way into hitching along to Barcelona? Maybe if you squish yourself up real small, you could fit into someone’s suitcase?

New Product from Apple[sup]TM[/sup]:

Announcement From Apple

Apple announced today that it has developed a breast implant that can store and play music. The i-Tit will cost $499 or $599 depending on cup size. This has been hailed as a major breakthrough because women are always complaining about men staring at their breasts and not listening to them.

Anybody got some sunflower seeds? I need sunflower seeds to throw the shells at rosie for that awful pun.

I didn’t create it - but I sure as heck passed it on to everyone I know

I’m tempted to touch the floor on a San Francisco Muni bus just to get some sunflower seed shells and fling them as punishment for that… But then I’d need to boil my hands after touching all manner of pestilence. (Not that I’d be throwing biohazardous waste at people anyway!)

Weird that the google ads are all about cord blood and the “banking” thereof.

It’s Oakday for me. Taking tomorrow off to assemble a backyard shed, do the annual maintenance on the lawn mower and generator, and various other “weekend” things that we’re never able to actually get around to on a normal weekend.

**Bobbio ** - a Sable wagon? Oy… Nerdy indeed.

I read the linked article just 'cause, and I think she makes her case extremely poorly. I agree that men and women are fundamentally different and on average, men are better at some things. But there’s something in the way she states her argument that makes me want to hit something.

Fuck

The fucker is already dead.

Not good enough I say.

I hate that.

{{lunch}}

Fuck indeed. FIL is preparing for a trip to Israel in a couple of months… this sort of crap will not set MIL’s mind at ease (she’s a Jewish mama, after all - they’re olympic-grade worrywarts).

Someday, there will be peace. There has to be.

Finally I get to post - it’s been an insane afternoon. But critters are now fed, dishwasher is loaded, and I’m trying to decide whether to throw something together for supper or let **FCD ** take me out. I have a feeling he won’t want to go anywhere, so we shall see. (He’s home. He’s not hungry. That settles that.)

Special 1 - I heard about that as I was driving home - How awful!! We seem to live in such ugly times.

rosie, you should be flogged. That’s all I’m gonna say about that. :stuck_out_tongue:

My dress came today, and it looks pretty hideous when it’s on. I should have expected it - the site where I bought it was supposedly for large sizes, but none of the models could even remotely be described as plus. So I guess the search goes on…

Glad it’s almost Firday.

Fuck indeed, Special One. :frowning: I just do not understand the world sometimes. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

That is just awful, Rosie. I shall send it on forthwith.

In the :smack: category again: I just got a call from a messenger, who is trying to bring me yet more congressional [del]drivel[/del] work to get done this evening. Which is fine…except that the idiots at her office sent her to a street of the same name in a totally different county. One due north of DC, whereas am due east of DC. :smack: At least now she knows how to find me. But considering traffic at this time of day, something tells me I won’t be getting an early start on that [del]drivel[/del] work. :smack:

Back to work. As I feared, this financial stuff is beyond deadly. It really helps, too, that one of the witnesses has a thick Russian accent and the other a thick Hebrew accent, and they both speak English fluently and at speed. I’m caffeinating furiously in an attempt to stay ahead of the slumber-inducing properties of this one!

And so the endless circle of rage and impotent fury continues… <real, not snarky, heavy sigh>
In other news, I just bought an acoustic guitar! I have no idea what to do with it, but will be starting lessons once school is done. If my parents had let me keep my sister’s piano (a long story), I would be taking piano lessons. I’ve always wanted to know how to play a portable instrument, but the ukelele and the euphonium didn’t interest me. If I had been truly practical, I would have taken up flute or clarinet, since we now own these two expensive instruments due to the older kids. Soon, we will own a cello (#2 son)…
I need to make dinner soon. Pork steaks and garlic bread and X. X is a variable I need to solve for. I just feel like garlic bread.

nooney, makes you sick right in the gut, doesn’t it? I will never understand the thought process. Heaven help us all.

what causes my hackles to rise is that Hamas celebrates, joyously, things like this

eta

something green, like spinach or green beans.

I just saw that on the news, No1, and thought of you. There are no words. It’s just tragic and terrible that things like this still happen in a supposedly more civilized world.

SpazCat, I bookmarked that article. God, that woman is annoying.

Well, I had my visa talk with School #1, and they gave me a no, as I expected. They even gave me the “It’s not you, it’s us” speech. Heh. (I.e., I’m a good teacher but the visa process is just too complicated and expensive and uncertain for them to justify attempting it.)

Sigh. A return to Korea seems to be becoming inevitable.

rigs, yay on the guitar! I have a classical guitar myself. It’s pretty easy to learn.

Thought of you today… sad, very sad.

So says YOU. <crosses fingers> Well, at least that unknown (re the visa) is now known. You’ll still email us from Korea, right? I can see you now, at an internet cafe, fending off male advances, sipping a latte, Doping.
I wish I could start lessons earlier–the only time slot available is when I have online class. I really like this one instructor, so I want to stay with him.

Pork chops/steaks/whatever are in the oven. I do believe I’ll make green beans to go with. I am using a new mix of sea salt and garlic (on sale today at Jewel) for the garlic bread.
And that woman re the “weaker” sex–who is she, Ann Coulter’s cousin? Good god, who need chauvinism? Women are so busy deriding one another–she is annoying and completely off her rocker.

I will add this: even if it is mothereffing cold out there, it is nice to see the spring sun–it feels warm and looks golden. It IS coming, despite the nip in the air.
