I’d say that if the 3 of you were drunk in a bar, it’s anyone’s guess as to who has (and I can’t believe I’m going to type this) “dibs” on the poontang.
This is like discussing honor among thieves.

Wow, jnglmassiv, that was harsh. My first instinct would be to kick the roomie out or to move myself. But, I’d probably come back to what rigs said.
Wow, MamaT, I didn’t know there was anyone left who actually used language like that. How old was the couple?
So, I’ve made bread (it’s on its first rise) and shoveled some more. I probably have two more rounds of shoveling before my brother can fit his car in the driveway. I’m hoping I’ve guesstimated the length of his car correctly.
I’m in clean-up mode.
I just read the icky wake-up thread and had to laugh when I saw Mama Tigs posting right after snowbunny about the same incident.
Off to clean some more…
It’s not like that, Elenor. We’re gentlemen and did our best to win her over. There was no poontang dibs or whatever at the bar. After the bar, though, she and I gravitated toward each other and I kind of thought she’d picked me.
And I’m not mad at friend unless he really wnet over the line (ie telling lies or confidential stories: “Ya, Jngl’s got about 12 kids, HepB and a parole officer appointment every Tuesday…”). Simply, we were competeing and he won. Besides, he and I have been friends for waaay too long for a bar hookup to break up our friendship. It’s just so hard to meet quality people and these types of encounters never happen to me. The stars seem to line up for once, I meet a girl, actually get her in my arms and somehow my buddy not only seduces her, he does it while I’m still around. I’ve been basically Heisman’d twice this week, I’ve got zero prospects and I’m frustrated.
And for the record, this story doesn’t involve my roommate.
Wondering if coffee is a bad idea. I’m sort of cracked out presently and will undoubtedly be useless for the remainder of the day.
And now it’s time for shoveling, round 2. Have I mentioned what fun this is?
GT
I do like that - and I love pink. It’d be nice if they have it in the store… (Wedding is May 4.)
I just finished a fun-filled session in my studio. I even tidied when I was done for the day. Which means it’ll be more pleasant to go down there the next time. I also did 2 loads of laundry, so yay! And I just pulled a hunk of tuna out of the freezer for supper.
And I agree about this too-short weekend. Blah.
Do tell!
Friend dropped by with a DVD rental - Clerks, which I haven’t seen before. It was amusing.
It’s already 2:35! I hate DST.
And I’m back. I’m shoveling about 1/2 an hour at a time. I have maybe 20 minutes left to go. I figure I’ll do that as soon as the bread is ready to go into the oven. It should be coming out of its second rise in a few (looky, there’s the timer!) and then it has about a 45-minute rise.

Watch it, girlie, or I will. There are pictures!!! (Well, not of me, but of the snow.)
Oh, yeah. And I’m about to make an apple crisp that I’m loosely basing on Ree’s apple pie. I blame you!!!
GT
Well, yeah, but not every man can hope to look this good.
It’s been a nice laid back day here at da cave. We went to church, then et lunch, then I got a hair cut. Then we came back here and well, nevermind. Now ol’ y’all know who is back at his place doin’ laundry. I’m goin’ over there in a bit and we’re goin’ to that fine dining establishment known as Three Squares Diner for supper. It was coooooooooold this morning but has warmed up out to the upper 60s and kinda nice.
Ok, off to put on presentable clothing (sweat pants and a tshirt, which I am now wearing, are hardly suitable attire for fine dining) and be off to ACBG’s place.
Later Y’all!
I am channeling LiLi today and have made apple crisp and bread. Well, they’re in the oven.
Am going out for shoveling, round 3.
Back in a few.

We went to breakfast, stopped to buy TurboTax and now my taxes are completed. Did I mention how much I HATE doing taxes?
We’re getting a thousand less back than we received last year. Most of this is due to the fact that since my daughter turned 17 in January 2007 she no longer qualifies for the child tax credit. I think this is bullshit. She’s still in high school for cripes sake.
I guess I shouldn’t complain; I’m not paying after all, but still. We are really screwed when my son turns 17. You know what really sucks? He doesn’t turn 17 until close to the end of the calendar year, and we still won’t be able to claim it. At least he’s only 15 now, so we’ve got two more cycles with him.
I guess I should go run some errands or something, but I kind of just want to relax.
Didn’t make it to Target or the grocery store today; I decided that it was just too chilly to even go to the grocery store (which is nearly next door!). LOL Actually, once Target was out (my daughter didn’t want to go at all, and I didn’t want to try to carry packages by myself), I decided that the grocery store can wait until Wednesday, as that’s when Safeway’s next flyer comes out–one that will hopefully include a special on corned beef briskets.
Damn it, I miss that hour of sleep! I really don’t like the time change every spring–it will take me at least several days to re-acclimate myself to leaving while it’s still dark in the morning. I hate that, I mean leaving in the dark. At least it won’t be dark when I get home.
This weekend seems to have disappeared too quickly!
I’ve just returned from the grocery store. I purchased ingredients for our next low fat meal, which I’ll prepare tomorrow. I was going to make it tonight, but Mr. Taters decided he wanted a ribeye steak and baked potato for dinner. We’re really good during the week about eating correctly, so I guess this won’t kill us.
Tomorrow’s dinner will be steak with roasted garlic and chili rub. It sounds rich, but it’s only 136 calories per serving. I plan to make extra of the seasoning rub and toss it with chunks of zucchini, scallions and bell peppers and broil them alongside the steak.
It’s kind of muggy outside, so I guess that means it’s going to rain again. I sure am ready for some nice, sunny, warm stretches of weather.
jingl–I guess it’s different. <peers down from approaching old age into her murky past and cannot find any memories of “hooking up” even in the pre-AIDS era of her college days>
I can relate to the hurt feelings of not having come out on top–er, I mean–won the girl’s heart… maybe you should not go to the bar with Friend?
I have had a Bad Day. Got halfway to the library (walked) only to discover I’d forgotten my glasses. Turned back to get them, decided to drive. Car needed gas. Got to library, did this one thing she wanted me to do–printer no worky. Fine. Move on to next task, only to find that Novelist has been overtaken by Evil warlords and has completely changed its interface into a mishmash of crap that I cannot navigate with ease. Tried for an hour and gave up. Now I’m home. The Husband has ordered pizza for dinner and is also making mashed potatoes(?).
This day sucked.
GT-sorry to hear of your snow. Ugh.
gardentraveler, I’ve tried that apple pie recipe. My friends loved it.
What do we think of this dress?
ETA: rigs’s rant reminds me - I still need to get an eye exam. :smack:
Ignore me, most people do.
You’ve never seen Clerks before?! That’s depressing as an American. Though it’s even more depressing about the going-back-to-Korea thing.
No, really. I want to grab your legs and pout and kick and scream. In Somerville, MA I drive by an area of the city where illegal immigrants gather to be picked up for jobs, and there’s about 35-50 of them everyday. Then there’s the Southern border, which we hear about often, with people coming from Mexico.
I mean, there is terrible things happening to people on the MMP, worse things than you even. My heart and {{hugs}} goes out to them, but if you really have to leave the country… I’m pooped.
Which rant?
As for the dress, we like it-if it’s for you. Not so much if it’s for FCM’s wedding.
I’ve never seen Clerks. Am I missing something?
I knew it! You’re a spy! Why do you hate America?
rigs, I was referring to the part where you left your glasses behind - that reminded me. I already bought a pair of frames I like. Now I need a prescription. Yes, my priorities are probably skewed.
Yeah, I was thinking of the dress for myself. Though if FCM wants it I’m happy to step back.
beebs, yeah it does suck. I’ve grown very cynical about the whole thing. I am a highly qualified teacher, with a degree from a decent American university, yet I can’t stay in this country lest I take the jobs of other, hard-working Americans. This, from a country where dedicated teachers are getting to be something of a rare commodity. Well, screw y’all. I’m taking my educated ass back to Korea, where they pay me ridiculous amounts of money to repeat “THIS IS A PENCIL” to children carrying Dior bookbags.
Thanks for the offer of the dress, Haze, but I don’t think ever in my life could I wear a size 4…
